Ok, so I'm looking at using an AWD tranny with a broken (and then welded) VCU for true FWD on my TT FWD, but I have some questions first. I have a few questions about it though. I realize I will need a new flywheel, clutch and tranny, but what of the axles and hubs?? Will they need to be swapped over, or can I just use the current axles and carrier bearings? Thanks.

You can use 93+ fwd axles. I believe the intermediate shaft may be different than the manual fwd trans. It may be the same as the automatics. I'll have to double check tomorrow.

Hans, if that's the case, do you have an intermediate shaft, and how much? Also, if it IS different, can I use the new shaft on the current set up? Mine has kind of bit the dust or will soon, and I'd like to avoid buying another, if it's only going to be used for a couple months.

They're different... There's five different part numbers: AWD/TT all years, N/A manual early, auto early, N/A manual late, and auto late.

I have a rebuilt tranny for sale, it needs an output shaft anyways so it would be perfect for you. Let me know if you are interested. I also have a 92 tt front axle if thats the one you need?
