Not sure what to say

So, it's long and complicated, but my brother in law's girlfriend just had her baby. At the time of conception/pregnancy, their relationship was very rocky and volitile. They were living together, while both still married to their respective spouses (although "separated"). She has two daughters from the previous marriage.

They are now both divorced (although I don't think she is, really, she just claims she is), and now engaged.

He has put our family through a lot of crap, and now that the baby here it's all cupcakes and confetti for everyone but me.. I'm not really sure how to act. I haven't said anything to him, and I don't know what to say. I know I should be the bigger man here, but it's hard to do a 180 with regards to the way I feel. I feel that if I act all happy and congratulatory, it'll just be fake.

Sorry, this was more of a short rant than anything... don't have many people to talk to about it.

He's your sisters ex husband?? If so, why should you even be concerned about his life? They're divorced, he's moved on to something else, I just don't see why you should care. He's not blood and he's no longer related by marriage. He's now related to you as much as I am.... which is not at all.

i don't want people in my life who won't be 100% frank with me, and i don't want to be friends with someone with whom i can't be 100% frank in return.

there are 2 types of people in the world: creeps and assholes. creeps you can't trust because they act friendly to you in person, and talk dirty about you/stab you in the back. assholes are the type of people you can trust...because if they have anything bad to say about you, they'll say it to your face.
