This saddens me; she is a standard-setter in the truest sense...

Oh shit! She is a f-ing hero around here! Damn well deserves the status too! Probably one of the best coaches of any sport. She even fires up the home football crowd before a game at Neyland Stadium once and a while. Works very well too, she a hell of a motivational speaker.

This is very sad, I hope she can keep it at bay for a long time. Maybe one more national championship before she goes. :(

That sucks. I, and the rest of the basketball team, idolized her in High School. Every single one of us wanted to play for the Vols, and this was in Florida.

I have only seen one game in real life, against Duke at Disney... they lost :(

i thought you were going to say "explosive ordinance disposal". that's what EOD really means... :)

I always thought Pat Summitt was what Bobby Knight wished he was.

Probably so, Pat is much more intimidating than bobby, without having to get violent. I'm telling you, living in TN right out of Knoxville you see her a lot and she is a class act but when she is pissed, determined, motivated or what ever you want to call it she has a certain look/swagger that demands 100%. It's a weird thing

Actually, it would be more accurate to say Ms. Summitt is what Bobby Knight thinks he is.

I really don't see a comparable legacy, this side of John Wooden, truth.

That sucks for her. Only thing she can do now is hope it doesn't get worse too quickly...
