Hotwire Dimmer So Dash is Always On?

So, I removed all the bulbs, and wired in LED's, throughout the entire car, and I want to leave them on permanently. I was thinking of doing it through the dimmer, so all the lights in the car are always on. I'm thinking of just wiring the G-W wire from the dimmer to an ignition source. I'd like to keep it in the same circuit, to make it easier and minimize the need for mods. Anyone know where the ignition source for the circuit is so I can just splice directly into it? OK, so I went and did some checking. The wires coming out of the rheostat are very odd, definitely not the normal set up. it seems that the G-W wire AND the B-Y wire are both hot. The B wire still seems to be the normal ground. In fact, I even cut the G-W wire, and it still functioned completely normal. Looks Like it was fed from the B-Y wire. Anyone possibly get what is going on here? Thanks.

Edit: After looking through schematics some more, it looks to me like the gauges are powered from the junction block via C-71, travel to D-44, and then to the gauges via a G-W wire. It looks like the actual control on the steering column switches the ground on and off. So, am I right in thinking that I need to (if C-71 isn't an ignition power source) splice C-71 into an ignition power, and then bypass the arm on the steering wheel BEFORE the arm, and just run it straight to its own ground? From the looks of it, I think C-71 IS ignition controlled, but I will double check that. Does that make sense to anybody else?

Why not just leave your parking lights on all the time? YOu'll get your dash lights and assed visibility when driving.
