The officer doesn't really get to the driver until about 6:20 into the video. The driver tried telling the officers multiple times that he was carrying concealed and even had the license in his hand the whole time. The officers ordered him to remain silent and then when they did find out he was carrying, he proceeds to threaten his life.

I want to assure our citizens that the behavior, as demonstrated in this video, is wholly unacceptable and in complete contradiction to the professional standards we demand of our officers. As such, appropriate steps were placed in motion as dictated by our standards, policies and contractual obligations. Those steps included: The officer immediately being relieved of all duty

Oh, I forgot. Only police are responsible and level-headed enough to carry a firearm.
This guy deserves to have his "face smashed in" or whatever the fuck other childish threats he made to the citizen.

They say the way you can tell if it is police or a robber raiding your house is by sending your dog out towards them. If they start petting the dog it's probably robbers, if they shoot the dog it's probably the police.

While that police officer is a complete waste of life...
about par for the course.
That is THANKFULLY not true.
The majority of police officers are amazing men and women who routinely put their life on the line to protect us citizens.
Unfortunately it is the asses like this former officer that ruins it for the rest of them.

there's a lot of them that also have nothing better to do than try and stop people doing 1mph over the speed limit.

1. Ohio, cops are the fucking WORST in the world. no shit
2. The passenger was black, notice they went for him 1st?
He should never work again as a cop, partner should probably be fired also. Go to rehab for the steroids, then see a shrink for the small penis syndrome.

watch the video again.. the "passenger" wasnt even in the car.. he was standing outside it when the cops pulled up.. He also was a friend of the female who just happened to be a prostitute.. did the cop do the right thing? hell no.. but I get why he was pissed.. you can set there and say the cop didnt let him tell them, but the driver had plenty of time when the officer was crawling around in the back seat.. if not before than.. maybe I am bias but if you sit here and really logically look at the situation and still don't see why the cop was pissed off then you're extremely bias or just ignorant.. the cop was an asshole.. and said a lot of shit he shouldn't have, but the driver in no way was in the right.. Listen to everything the cop says and think about his point of view..

Uhhh, he did try to tell them multiple times. The officer kept telling him to shut up. He was even waving the CCW in his hands. Those cops are at fault through and through.

Sorry, no excuse what so ever. I don't care if he was buying crack, getting a ho, masturbating, or just getting off work. Don't try and justify it man. There is no justification for the cops action. I get it, devils advocate, but I don't think the devil needs any help lately. :D

My best friend is an officer. I go to Austin and do ride alongs with him a couple times a year. Out of all of the officers I've met, only 1 of them is a douche like what you're talking about.
But yes, there is one, ever time he checks out all of the speed trap equipment, and spends his entire shift trying to get up his "numbers". He is an ass, other officers think he is an ass, and I'm sure the people he pulls over think so too. But that is 1 out of the close to 50 I've been along side during shifts.
And yes, he does give them all a bad name.
I recently had a run in with one of the "pain" ones. I just finished defensive driving today for a 10 over ticket. Still only think I was doing 8 over at the time. But I was in the VR-4 with its' big whale tail and traveling in a pack. It was my 2nd speeding ticket I've ever gotten. First one was in 2001.

I didn't even listen to the last few minutes of it until just now. It gets worse!!!
Cop: "When I saw that you were carrying I should have just taken two steps back and pulled out my Glock 40 and put 10 bullets in your ass and watch you drop! And I wouldn't have lost ANY sleep! And he would have been a nice witness as I executed you because you're stupid!"

Exactly why I'm pissed for somebody telling ME to go back and listen to it again. There isn't any excuse for his actions and his partner didn't do a damn thing to help "small penis roidrage" chill out. I think he should be held responsible also.

did I say the guy didnt do anything wrong? I said he had a reason to be pissed.. and the guy didnt try telling them about the CCW until the got to the drivers door.. Im not playing devils advocate.. I did say that the officer was in the wrong, but i still think that if it was me, or if it was anyone else in this thread they'd be a little bit pissed off.. The driver didn't go straight to the CCW license either, he actually tries to tell the cop some story about why he was there and wasn't picking up the prostitute.. Im sorry but the first words out of that guys mouth when the cop did let him say something should have been "Im concealed carrying" the driver said a lot of stuff before the cop got him out of the car.. Yes the cop was a complete asshole, and I am glad he lost his job, but the driver could have done a better job of letting the officers know.. Now the fact that that officer was even passed through with all the interviews and shit scares me however.. its obvious he has a little bit of a problem.. lol We have officers like that here to, I actually work at a jail and see it sometimes..

thats not a fun place and he was correct they were all up to no good...
He got pissed when he realized he could be dead right now. He relaxed and he shouldnt have and the guy had time to say "I have a CCW licence" thats bullshit he couldnt say it, he said plenty else besides that...
He never pulled a gun and pointed it at him, yes he said "I shoulda"... If you don't think that job is stressful your joking. He needs to go back to training but shouldnt be fired. All you guys think a cops job is peaches and cream.
the guy had plenty of time to say "I have a ccw license"... that whole line of "oh had the driver not kept quiet, it could have been deadly"... thats total bullshit.
My hands would have been up in the air going "I have a CCW license" from the get go.... and that's that... he didnt do any of that...

That officer shouldnt be an officer. He obviously has mental problems...
Are police officers screened mentally before becoming one? I dont think their training is extensive enough if there are problems like this.
I can understand getting upset over the driver not being blunt and loud enough but that was over the top and unacceptable.

My .02
Just think about how many cops are killed by citizens with licensed firearms with the proper paperwork (concealed carry) in the same situation. Give me a percentage & I'm willing to bet that it wouldn't damage the VCU in an awd 3/s.
I've got a... "shut the fuck up and stay in the car" officer I've got.. "so what the hell is your story? what are you doing here?" You try to get a word in edgewise with a guy that's got more Muscle Milk than blood in his veins.
I can understand foul language but the officer's naive overuse of profanity makes me feel like I'm changing my jock strap in the Jr. high locker room.
My cousin is an officer in North Carolina, I am not biased against the law.
i must be a magnet for bad cops, according to j-groove. whatever. of course there are good cops out there. my experience has been that the good ones are invisible to me; the bad ones are the ones constantly harassing me.
once when i was in HS, i had a cop threaten to arrest me because i was sitting on my bicycle outside of a bar, watching a guy's car for him (he'd offered me a few bucks). i've also been caught in a speed trap in podunk, GA by a cop with nothing better to do than take advantage of the ridiculously close speed-limit signs posted immediately before his shitty town; same cop also broke my driver's license in half "accidentally" because i guess he's a reh-tard or something. you'd think after absent-mindedly doing something like that that a cop would feel a bit of remorse & let me off with a warning or something. it's not like i was doing double the speed-limit. oh, and did i mention i was IN UNIFORM at the time?
so yes, fuck the cops.

exactly... you guys are biased... If I get a ticket tommorow I would be hating on this cop also. But look at from his perspective... He could easily be a statistic right now, why because he let his guard down and didnt have everyone belly down on the street hands on their heads... He freaked out on the fact he f'ed up and let his guard down with the guy and if you actually think about why his is so pissed off at the guy? He didn't shoot him? Whats the problem right?
Because he was mad at himself and scared and realized he could have just cost him and his partners life so he vented. Should he vent on camera like that? def not.
if he did become a statistic, that's a darwin award for being an idiot douchebag. don't follow protocol, act like you've got roid rage, and threaten someone for no reason. good job--you deserve to be knocked-off at the next time you slip-up.

That cop is a complete douche bag, no other way to look at it.

negative. re-read what i posted. if an officer doesn't follow proper procedure, and it bites him in the ass; he is just as culpable as the perpetrators. you have to be a raving idiot to do a search of a vehicle with the occupants still inside. even without a gun, the driver could have inflicted some serious harm to that officer.
by now allowing the driver the freedom to divulge his ccw & by not following proper procedure--those cops invited disaster. being all "huffy" and pissed off about it doesn't change the fact that the ONLY reason they got in that situation was because they're fucking morons.
even if you look past all the mistakes & inappropriate actions the cops did in that video, they should still be kicked off the force for being incapable of conceding being wrong. i don't care what organization you work for, if you can't admit to your own fuck-ups, then you don't deserve to work there.

That is exactly my point. The ones that are "harassing" you when you're not doing anything really wrong are the ass hole cops. Of course all the others are invisible to you, they are out catching the real bad guys or patrolling the streets for real issues. Unless you're doing something really wrong, or have a real issue you're not going to find the "invisible good cops".

Not only that, but it isn't considered "venting" anymore when you spend minutes telling someone not only that you should kill them, but specifically how you should kill them. Luckily it's not up to people like Mike and the guy is now without a job. And since this video has gone viral, hopefully he'll stay that way for a while and the victim and his attorney can sue the ever living piss out of him.

I think we've all had run ins with cops that are complete dicks. BUT... it's important to remember that statistically speaking, they are a very small minority. Plano TX, where I grew up, the cops had nothing better to do than go after speeders. There wasn't much serious crime to speak of back then, and still isn't that much now. So they got a reputation as being fairly worthless and just writing tickets. Downtown in Dallas however, they rarely even bother writing speeding tickets. However, they've also got real crime to contend with down there.
The good cops are ones that join out of a desire to help people. The bad ones are the hall monitor/abuse of power mentality that get off on flaunting some authority. Those types of people should never be given any sort of control over anything. Hell, just look at dpf and LW... ;)

Found this little piece right here.
CCW Permits in Florida Issuance Rates
Population 13,277,000
% of Floridians All - 62.7%
Who Own Guns Male - 68.8%
Female - 57.3%
# of Floridians 8,325,000
Who Own Guns
# of Permit Applications 239,411
Permits Issued 227,569
Permits Revoked Due To Crime With Firearm Present 18 (0.008%)
Number revoked for misuse. That can be many things on varying levels of severity too. Amongst those .008% would be people that shot at an officer. I'd be willing to bet that .008% revoked is less than the % revoked from LEO's.

gives stats...
Since May 2007, concealed handgun permit holders have killed at least 189 individuals--including nine law enforcement officers--in 26 states. Of the 114 incidents that resulted in the deaths, in more than half (63 incidents) the concealed handgun permit holder has already been convicted, committed suicide after the shooting, or was killed in the incident. Of the 51 cases still pending, the vast majority (44) of concealed handgun permit holders have been charged with criminal homicide, two were deemed incompetent to stand trial, two incidents were unintentional shootings, and three incidents are still under investigation. Of the 114 incidents, 16 were mass shootings where concealed handgun permit holders claimed the lives of 65 victims.

Hey DUMBASS, provide REAL STATS and not one little article.
I've carried numerous times and have never had the urge to shoot anyone. Just because someone carries doesn't mean they are going to shoot people. Seriously, you just need to do us all a favor and shut the fuck up.

Found this little piece right here.
Number revoked for misuse. That can be many things on varying levels of severity too. Amongst those .008% would be people that shot at an officer. I'd be willing to bet that .008% revoked is less than the % revoked from LEO's.

Again, piled incidents without any comparison. Numbers mean nothing without perspective. ;)

I live about 45 minutes away from Canton and have an Ohio CCW permit. The driver did nothing wrong given the nature in which the cops approached that vehicle, especially given officer dickhead's attitude. In this senario the cops chose to roust the pimp and his ho while ignoring the driver who was minding his business in the front seat as told. Whe the cop FINALLY approached him to give him a hard time, he tried REPEATEDLY to inform officer dickhead that he had a CCW permit. The rest is like they say, "History". Ohio is a must inform state and OFCC and Buckeye Firearms is trying to get legislation to get that changed because of it being used improperly against innocent citizens. If I am carrying, I HAVE to inform the cop. If I am not carrying and DO NOT have a gun in the vehicle I do NOT have to inform, but it is recommended anyways. Most cops still do not know the aspects of the law and it was passed over 7 years ago. I'll post an email I got from a shooting friend about this. He lived in Canton for years and the rep for the cops there is they are Chicago style crooked and officer dickhead is the norm, not the anomaly.
From Bob:
I lived in Canton for 19 years. They don’t call it '”Little Chicago” for no reason. The cops are crooked, lazy thugs. The chief and the union stooge are standing by him. Of course they are both Democrats!
The cop is an ex (not ‘former’) Marine. I hope The Corp disown him!
He has been on PAID administrative leave since the video went public and he went on ‘sick leave’ last Monday!
Also, since the video went viral, it’s finally front page news...TODAY! It, like any police misconduct that can be smothered, was swept under the rug!

It takes some complete embarrassment for him to give up. Generally speaking, when called out on throwing out single incidents and not usable data that shows perspective he usually gives up but throws out a last attempt.

As a cop and a big supporter of everyone's 2nd amendment right seeing as I also have a CCW. the cop was an asshat no getting around it. But when you Lose control of your emotions on a stop your not level headed and thats were most people get killed by the subject. If I ever get stopped as soon as I get stop first thing out of my mouth is I have a gun in the car and my CCW. If the cop wouldn't have been a dick from the start it would have went different.

I watched the local news and his police union is making an attempt for an appeal to get him re hired. They said it could be up to a year long process. They are claiming he suffers from post tramatic stress disorder stemming from a traffic stop 8 years ago where a gun was involved. Sounds like BS to me

And even if that is the case, he shouldn't be out there if it's causing him to do that. However, I agree. It's complete bullshit. If this guy has done this on more than one occasion he has no business continuing his duty as a LEO.
I'm pretty sure, if police officer cannot conduct himself properly (ie inappropriate language), you can refuse to talk to him and request assistance and supervision by other (real) officers. This, usually, puts them back in their place and most of the time they will just apologize to you as long as they don't have to report it.
