Anyone know where I can fine a volume control that is flush mount and the rotary control is flat to the surface?

Something like http://www.trufig.com/images/products/Sonance_V60.jpg

In black if possible. I do not need the electronics behind it just the control. If it has to come with electronics I need it with the ability to use it as a push on/off as well.

thanks

Hmmm... The first thought that came to mind was a busted iPod. You can buy them on Ebay for a couple of bucks, take it apart and use the rotary dial parts as needed.

What is the application?

What kind of mounting depth do you have?

application, what would be telling.

depth, the space behind the lower din area in the 3s center console.

A knob like this? It just fits over a pot, then you have to mount it flush with a surface.
Digi-Key - K3310-BLACK-ND (Manufacturer - K3310-BLACK) (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=K3310-BLACK-ND)

I could make that work but I'd have to fab up the mounting to recess the pot.

Def and option.

The point of asking about the application deals with what components will be suitable. If a pot with a standard audio taper is acceptable then you should just find a knob that fits the size requirement, find a correctly sized pot, make a trim panel that recesses the knob to being flush, and build a board to accept whatever input and output you need.

I hope to connect to an existing piece of hardware. My hope is to find something and strip the pot out of it and replace it with the one I've got.

The one I posted would be perfect but aside from finding the co that makes It I can't find anyone that sells it or a price.

I wouldn't think fabbing up something to recess the pot would take much, but I'll keep looking when I get some free time and see if I find something.

Is this a top secret innovation you refuse to share until complete?

Nah, just an idea that could be real stupid and I may not want to share out of shame.

Are you going to use it to turn up the boost?

Are you going to use it to turn up the boost?

This pleases me.
