No offense meant to Levi and the crew, but the NG auto crosses lack a lot to me when compared to the local fair that I am used to. Our autox club acquired huge pavement that used to be the main parking lot for a Six Flags amusement park. Just a guess, but I'd bet that today's course was a mile and a half in length, it was like a medium sized road course minus a long straight and a big sweeper. I have some vids from my new GOPRO that I'll post up when I get them uploaded to youtube.

Sorry, been working OT this week and need to edit the Vids to just the runs, then upload to the 'tube. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend.

NG was the first AutoX I've ever seen so it would be cool to see some different track setups

WHERE THA VIDEOOOOOO! :p :DRead post #3. I'm waiting for the upload to finish to youtube now, the vid should be up sometime Sunday morning. Hi Def uploads to the 'tube suck.
Here's the video:

The courses on this huge lot are around 1.5 miles in length and speeds get up to around 75 mph in some cars. I was battling overheating all day. Each run had the car hotter than the run before and by run #3, I had to skip a run to let the car cool down a bit. The last run started at 100°C and was up over 115°C by the end. I didn't push it on the last video and was watching the temp. gauge instead of the cones.

Hmmm what's your cooling setup?

Hmmm what's your cooling setup? '99 front end, GT PRO FMIC and ducting, twin flex-a-lite puller fans, another set of fans on the A/C condenser. A/C fans run only when system is on, but they free spin just as fast from the other ones to help guide air through the cores. I am going to change out the thermostat today to see if it might be deffective.
Oh, and the radiator is a 3SX dual pass.

I believe most of us where able to get up to about 80 on the straight away at the NG.

I believe most of us where able to get up to about 80 on the straight away at the NG.Yeah, on this course they stuck tight slaloms on the straights to keep the speeds down to around 75 max. That way it conforms to an SCCA low speed event and the guy who designs the course doesn't have to ride his rev limiter. One of the perks to his job I guess.

That is good and all as long as the course designer can not compete.
