View Full Version : Corbeau Seat Group Buy

Maximal

Just became an authorized Corbeau deal and figured to get the word out nothing works like a group buy. Pricing is too low to advertise so shoot me a PM with what you're interested in and I'll return with a price quote.

Keep in mind the prices I quote will require a minimum order which is probably around 7 or 8 sets of seats which between here and some local sites probably isn't that huge of a feat. Especially since I'll be picking up a set of CR1's for myself. :)

You can go here to see what they have: CORBEAU.COM: Official Site: Seats for Street, Race, Off-Road, and more (http://www.corbeau.com/)

Any questions let me know.

I drove to NG with the A4's and they are way more comfortable than the stockers

Question: Is there a seat belt guide that can be installed to keep from reaching way back to get the seat bealt? Granted that wouldn't work will all their seats, but a few of them look to have adjustable head rests.

Weights are listed on Corbeau's site. Brackets are discounted too so I'll add them to whatever you decide you want to go with.

As for the other opinions you'll have to ask people that have them. I will say these are quality seats though and some of the best you can get...it's not some cheap e-bay brand.

PMed. this is just the excuse i need to bite the bullet and buy a set. hope you can ship APO

Not sure on APO shipping but if we get that far I can check into it. Everything will be shipping directly from Corbeau.

Interesting question. I might be able to fab something up that works depending on how the seats are setup. I'll be honest and say it might be pricey though since it'd be a one off or least not a very popular option since it'd only fit the specific model of seat you go with.

Shooting PM's out now so if you guys dont' get one within the next few minutes let me know because I missed you somehow. Looks like there's ton of interest so hopefully we'll get this deal moving. :)

It might be a better idea to make something that mounts to the braxket and holds the buckle down by your side. That might make it more universal and less costly.

All I am going to say is be aware of the black micro suede. Not sure about the cloth but if your car is outside a lot like mine your seats will go from a nice rich black to a slight greyish purple within a few months. THEY FADE. I have CR1s.

Other then that the brackets they make to bolt the seats to our cars are slightly off. The angles on one of the tabs is bad and the position on the one of the other 4 is off. There was some stretching involved to get it to work.

The bracket as well has a bolt mounting location on the inside edge which if you use the supplied hardware will stick out too far and rub on the center console carpet and not allow you to tighten all the way.

I had to chop the bolt down size wise and bend the bracket towards the seat to get it to be useful. Once this is done the 3 point harnesses are a bit too long. If using harnesses it is best to make new mounting locations to make it a proper fit.

They have them in cloth (not wide though) but not suede. I can do it for special order but it's going to get pricey.

I can look into it. I've heard it's only on certain seats though. It shouldn't be too hard to get their universal sliders and make a set of brackets that are lower though.

What MR2 said. I've seen several Corbeau's installed and none of them are faded to the point described. I doubt all of them are new. A co-worker of mine had a set of CR1's in Suede for 5 years and he said they looked like new when he got rid of them.

Also, as for the bracket modification, I will admit I have not installed these before but I haven't heard of that. If anyone else has had this issue let me know and I'll address Corbeau with it, replacing a smaller bolt and adjusting some positioning for the harness shouldn't be a huge deal for them.

I had to do this to my brackets. I have the FX1 Pro seats (16lb each) and I love them. Drove the car for over an hour with no comfort issues. I can barely fit with a helmet on (Im 5'9"). I have less than an inch of headroom. Overall, these seats look awesome in the car and flow well with my 4 point roll bar and gauge pod a-pillar. Anyone who is thinking about getting some seats should definitely keep this thread in mind for a good deal.

I also weighed the stock seats. The driver's side was something ridiculous (upwards of 80lb or more) and the passenger side seat was over to 50lb on my 1993 VR-4.

IPD
07-13-2011, 06:25 PM
yeah, the stock power seats aren't light. mine are base seats though; full manual. i'd venture that they're much closer in weight to these (somewhere between 30-40lbs).

Shameless that you paid $$ for those brackets. Someone needs to make seat brackets that fit for this platform other than wedge.

Quick tip:
Use studs for the rear, instead of bolts. That way you can just leave the spacers on there, and then you can just drop the bracket on and tighten one nut. A lot easier than trying to line up bunch of stuff together when you bolt it down.

The only issue is the rear inside corner.

The passenger side rear outside is also slightly off.

The rear inside needs to have the hole closer and an elbow to make it lower. The passenger outside rear needs to be slightly more forward.
