Ooookay okay, a lot of people are always wondering how well clutches hold up. Here is a pic of the Spec clutch that I just pulled and replaced with a Southbend Stage 3 OFE clutch. This is after 30k miles. 10k miles were the previous owner who thrashed the car and the next 20k were from me babying it. After having it a few thousand miles it would get crazy hot and slip when I tried to do a decent launch so that's pretty much 12k of abuse and 18k miles babying it because it didn't want to take more. I can only imagine how bad it was handled in the past.

When it was removed it still launched the car fine without any slipping when I engaged it smoothly and I didn't have problems shifting through the gears but DAMN I'm excited to get rid of it and get a new one in there :)

Oh, almost forgot, can anybody tell what type Spec clutch that is by looking at it? Looks like a stage 2 but I'm curious.

Spec 2+ I believe

My bad, just 2, the + is unsprung

BTW, my buddy seems to think that a lot of the spec clutch disks are thinner than stock. I had the same clutch wear out pretty fast. Puck clutches will wear out quick and these are like the opposite (less material) so I expect it to wear out quick also. I am happy with my stage 4+ so far but spec has had a bunch of failures. Seems like they have been going down hill for a while.

Weird. I'm kind've happy I went southbend. It was between the SB that I got or the Spec 2+...would I have known the car had a spec the whole time I could've made the decision much quicker.

I'm pretty sure I posted in your thread when you were looking.
