So, I was hurt on the job awhile back and it was caused by neglect from my boss. I went to multiple doctors and dentists (had 2 root canals, 1 tooth knocked out, stitches in my face and a concussion for 2 weeks) All of my bills were straight in workers comp through the offices but 1, which I turned the bills into work as I was directed. I checked my credit report last night and realized I had a bad hit due to one of the hospital bills not getting paid by workers comp! It really pisses me off because I haven't even threatened to sue or anything and now I cant even get them to pay my medical bills.. Im 22 and am just starting to build my credit and now I have a negative hit for something thats not even my fault. Is there anything I can do about my credit? What should I do? Im calling my claims adjuster tomorrow

They never sent you a collections letter regarding the outstanding balance? GAH! That sucks. Try to talk to the credit companies but be sure you pay that guy off asap. How many months do you have a negative hit for? Similar thing happened to me. I found out about it, paid it and they updated the status on my credit report as paid in full but I still have the knock :(

well I got a free credit report thing and it shows 1 negative hit.. I am not paying this bill, its a workers comp medical bill.. If I have to pay it im going to pay it with settlement money simple as that.. I've read about people paying and it getting wiped off their credit..

Called everyone but Transunion so far giving them a bit since its time for lunch.. So, my workers comp says they paid a bill from SouthCrest hospital.. The insurance says its South Crest hospital.. South Crest said they double charged the insurance and they are now working with workers comp to get it paid, and that they never sent it to a credit claims people.. So, I took a bad hit on my credit, from a group of people who know they fucked up, and are trying to fix it, and never reported to my credit..:sigh: If how I understand this is correct I'm going to be pissed and relieved..

Sounds as if you're getting it straightened out. FWIW, medical bills don't affect your credit much.

As far as I know this is all good.. talked to a bunch of people and they told me if will be paid, and off my credit within 30 days.. I just hate to take a bad hit for something stupid like that..
