1.3 litres of fuel injected fury (fine! only 1275cc, but close enough).

Custom, "one of a kind", Austin Mini. Modeled after the fiberglass sprint shell mini's of yester-year. It has a 2" body chop with a 4" roof chop. all on a custom hydraulic suspension with each wheel hydraulically seperated from the others.

Got any questions? Just ask.

EDIT (July 4): Just thought i would let you guys know i got myself on the news today for this car. It was for a segment of a show called "Look East" on BBC one. As soon as I can get a good link of it up then i will. It only about 2-3 min. but i think its still pretty cool. I also got an interview from a reporter with ITV (another brittish channel) but im not sure yet if that one is making it to TV.

EDIT 2: more pics on page 4

nice. why didn't you make it 1/2 a long? then you could call it a "micro mini".

is that an OEM engine? if not, what prompted the choice? does a 2.0L DSM longblock not fit? :suspect:

if it was half as long it just wouldn't be as fun a car to drive. with it like this it handles and drives better than any mini i have ever been in. the "micro minis" as you say do exist though. but i think they look ugly as hell.

and yes it is an oem block. though it is out of a 98 so it is fuel injected with proper highway gearing unlike the 60 mph at 4000 rpm carb engines. we are playing with different ideas right now. there is a kit for an R1 bike engine available that might still fit under the chopped front end. thats about all i can fit under the hood with out sacrificing more cabin space though

Sick! I've recently seen a stock original Mini running around locally and it makes me so jealous, haha. I can't really fit in one though. :(

I'm 6' 1" and even with the 6" chop on this mini i still fit. but flexiability is a requirement to get in and out easily

I saw that post. With as much as i know about classic mini's I am amazed that they fared as well as they did with how bad that mini was damaged. the good news is that they can fix that car for pretty cheaply if they chose to. from the pics i saw nothing important enough was broken. believe it or not. it can be rebuilt for far less than the value of the car

Yeah 6'6" ish... I can barely fit in a stock Mini (Moke to be precise, roof down) and still use the pedals.

What year is the one you have?

Sean's mini is unrepairable

Here is one pic of the crashed mini

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/lindahaas/mini-2.jpg

Everything is damaged in the car, including the subframe. The back wheels are also bent. Sean is keeping the title. He will get an untitled mini and re-title it.

this one is actually my 5th mini. i have an 85, 87, 2 88s, and a 90 something. i also have the title to another 85. so i have 4 whole shells to pull parts from if i need too. but seeing the other damage pics of your mini it would be a lot of work to get going again. i suppose i look at things different after this project though

Sweet car. I'm currently restoring a 68 Austin America with the "1300" carbed engine. I'm not going that extreme though!!! That mini is amazing. Nice work.

Yamaha R1 engine

yup :D apparently this swap is even better than i thought. most people have been using the earlier carb engines. since i spent the big bucks and got the later fuel injected engine i am going to have one heck of a monster. 12 sec 1/4 may not seem like a lot to you guys but in this car it is going to be one scary fricking car. i cant wait :w00t:
