I have taken advantage of their offer and I got Infamous and Little Big Planet. Infamous sucked me in really fast and I had to quit since I have to work. So far Im happy and I didnt even play my PS last month so it was a nice surprise.

Did anybody else do it?

given sony's hilarously abysmal ideas of security; i'll pass. i think i'd rather run my computer without anti-virus or cloak while surfing deepweb hacking sites--than to pay sony for the shit that they call online service.

What a troll....lol Sony doesn't charge to utilize their network to play on line. I have been able to download all the games that they offer, because I have multiple accounts.

free online is good: that's why i play on PC.

p.s.

it's not trolling. here's highlights from the past month or so:

I downloaded 2 games, and they aren't on my system anywhere...but the two available game slots are gone from my account.

Haven't downloaded any games. Also, playing on PSN is free unlike 360. Also, please don't turn this into a debate as nobody gives a rat's ass what you play on. This is to discuss the Welcome Back Package for PSN, not debate consoles/PC's.

no debate. just be wary of sony's service. you may want to purchase lifelock. just saying.

If I do in fact purchase anything on there I use a prepaid PSN card. I also use an alias for personal info. They've got nothing on me. :)

just a head's up for those of you who may care (read: actually have a conscience). sony is becoming worse than the RIAA. bankrupting a guy & leaving him to rot in prison...all because he had the balls to take a stand against sony pulling the plug on linux support.

Write letters and and boycott a service or product if you don't like it. What he did was take down down a huge entity and steal very personal info. Also, consequences I am sure were considered. I don't like Walmart, and I don't shop there. I don't burn the place down though. I hope this guy gets everything they are throwing at him.

reading comprehension FAIL. this guy is not related to lulzsec--the hacker group who stole member info. the man they are going after is a german who is only "guilty" of supporting linux-modding for ps3's--and only after sony pulled the plug on it. the same sony that has been hacked half a dozen times ALREADY THIS YEAR. the same sony that deliberately installed rootkits on the computers of people who bought its cd's.

f**k sony. i posted this in the hopes that more people will find out how evil the company has become & start voicing their disapproval with their discretionary spending.

Kudos to that guy for standing up for what he believes. Sony stepped WAY beyond their boundaries going after him.

In regards to the OP, I'm glad Sony put together something for their users. I'd still like to see upgradeable hardware options for consoles though.

Is it your boredom that sends you to derailing a thread? If you feel so strongly about voicing your opinion on Sony's weaknesses, and way in which they deal with them start your own thread.

In case you have forgotten the roots in which your fps gaming come from...

Back on topic,

I have not had the time to even fire it up to claim the games. Hopefully later today...
