Didn't there used to be a post about these?? also if you bought everything in the set how much would it be (front and rear, shift boot) and what about the leather part that is over the door handle on the door panels??

To Evan i believe these are Vinyl and they said it was more to have it be real leather.

How are the edges of the seats formed? For example the back area of the front seats where the hot rings go through it. I've recovered a few sets of seats. The leatherseats.com seats will always fold over the edges, sew a little loop and then put a piece of weedwacker twine stuff through the loop. This makes the hotrings grab well and there is no risk of them tearing out of the leather. I've also installed a half price ebay set of leather and they don't do this. I had to use a bunch of zip ties every inch to hold it tight. I'm hoping they will never tear out.

Just postin up some pics of my seats, these are LEGIT! I took A LOT of pics to do a write-up, but have had ZERO time lately, but I did a quick upload of some finished results. I just wanted to post up some installed pics since there's not much rep for these great seats at a great cost, the bit of looseness can be massaged away, I'm thinkin with some break in and warmer weather they'll adjust and lessen, I've seen some other installs of the more expensive replacement covers and they had A LOT more looseness goin on, so a lot has to do with install, not so much quality, because these are definitely HIGH quality LEGIT pieces

On a scale from 1-10 I'm gonna rate'em a 9.5...the rear seats have some issues, mainly because the bottom part of the rear seats is glued on and the way the rears are made with the liner, it was loose fitting, but, they're the rears...you hardly see them...anyway...on to pics!

They take some time to get on and look good, this was on my dads car, we installed'em together (he was the holder of things and stretcher haha) If I get to doin my cars, I'm sure the install will come out even better...

Wow, these come out great, now I just need to determine if mine are a stock leather or aftermarket because someone told me base models never came with the leather option. Is this true? If so, would they be different measurements than the stock leather seats?

Base models did come with cloth, but I suppose the option for leather would've been available, or someone might have swapped in some leather seats from an SL or higher model. The seats are the same, but I'd suspect a more lose fitment installed on a cloth seat, though you can just pull everything tight during install. When I installed mine, if I had just pulled them tight were stock was, they would've been pretty loose, I ended up pullin the shit outta the fabric to get a tighter fitment and less bunchyness and wrinkles.

The reason I say they might be more lose is because, every time I sit in my TT or my dads TT, the seats seem more firm, like you're sitting on the seat, where as on my base, you sink into the seat, like you're sitting IN the seat, like the leather on the better models, keeps the foam from sacking out, where as the cloth will stretch more and you'll wear the firmness of the foam out...I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone, but the leather seats just seem more firm and both those cars have more mileage than my base model.

Bottom line though, these seats will work on your base model/cloth seats and would be a great upgrade, I'm gonna try and post up all my install pics on my next days off, it's fairly straight forward and easy, just time consuming.

Another thing to keep in mind - the factory covers are only leather on the front/seat-face, vinyl on the back side - "Leatherseats.com" are the same unless otherwise specified, and full-leather bumps their price up into the $800-$900-dollar range.

I got full leather from Josh for $450. :wink:

Generally, every manufacturer has their own care guide, but meguiars should be safe and what I'd recommend, I use it on my leather couch even haha...it's nice to go from yer car to yer couch and still feel like you're sitting in your car with the way meguiars smells lol

Just wondering if you can replicate these seat covers? Black leather with red GTO emblem. FYI these seat covers came factory standard on the 300 (?) 'Special Version' GTOs that were released, thought they look pretty cool. Let me know if you can do it and how much for just the front two seats for a RHD GTO (shipped to Australia).

Boy Dan, I never looked critically to see how close mine are, but I'll see if I can post a decent pic of, say, a door panel and maybe the back-seat next to mine for comparo.

K, didn't take pics 'cuz couldn't get good enough light for comparison, but the seats look darker than the rears and DP 'cuz they're newer, I'd say.

I would call the seats the correct color for new - Meguiars on the rears, etc, would probably bring them to life right nice.

There are pics of the seats, back a few pages, I think, but in the same light.

Keep in mind I did not get the perforated covers.

They match stock perfectly, possibly a shade darker, but I belive it's to be because it's new versus old, check out my pics, because they're the charcoal grey, to match stock, I posted pics a page back, and also my write-up has a lot of pics too, but I think it's a perfect match, and like j2k4 said, some meguiars might bring back some life to the stock stuff and help match up any color differences...

Did you drive all the way down from the U.P.? My dad grew up in L'Anse, and he still owns a house up there he has been remodeling. In fact, they renamed the road after our family name (Portice) after my grandfather passed away.
