So basically... the world is going to keep using Windows 7 until Windows (9?) comes out. Woot for Windows 7 being the old Windows XP.

Hmm.... interesting.

Can't blame them for trying something different.

This, haha. I can't wait until I have time to install 7 on this PC.

I will say, I do like Win 7. Vista was kind of a joke though, yes.

Let's look at M$ product

95 <-from what I remember, shitty
98 <-I used it forever

ME <-Shitty
XP <-I used it forever

Vista <-Shitty
7 <-I will probably use forever

They always need a stepping stone to get things 'right'

Pretty much. It annoys me that Microsoft thought that 7 was already dated. Who do they think is going to use this? Certainly not business users. This looks like something meant for a tablet, not a real computer for getting shit done. You can't get anything productive done on that. What a crap UI and they're proud of it. It's funny how MS can make a great OS, but they consistently make a crap one in between and then have to fix it with the next release. Nothing like doing it twice.

Thanks for wasting my time MS.

windows 8 is really just the interface addon... it should be called Windows 7 (touch edition)..

I want it on a laptop(touch screen).

Everybody knows you skip every other Windows. Its retarded but its the truth. Windows ME was solid...

Well...looks like Neutrino may be my next OS...

3.1 i used for a while too. 95 wasn't nearly as bad as some of the others on the list. it did have growing pains at first, but after the first year or so, 95 > 3.1 by a mile. of course when 98 came out, 95 was dogshit; although i never got as many blue-screens-of-death with 95 as i did with 98.

i like to think of vista as "windows 7 beta". just like unreal 2k3 was "unreal 2k4 beta". :D

i doubt i'll upgrade at all. i'll stick with 7 until i have to buy a new pc. it's not like i'll lose the ability to play games due to my OS at any point in the next 7-10 years.

yeah 95 was fairly solid, it certainly was no vista or me

Pretty much this. Hell, we still use XP on our machines here at work. Linux is reserved for the "special" stuff.

I see no reason to get 8. Windows 7 is working wonderfully for my home computer.

there's a LOT of machines that still use XP where i work too. until a new OS can prove it is secure enough for sensitive information, i don't think those machines will be switching over any time soon--not even to 7.

...our day-to-day pc's are all vista though.
