It's equivalent to 4 beers and 8 cups of coffee, and is loaded with sugar. I've seen 200 lb guys get wasted off of 2 cans.

Last weekend my friend and I decided we would see what all the hype is about. We went out and bought 8. We attempted to try every flavor. Most of the taste pretty bad; the blue one we dubbed "dragon's piss". I think the only one I would consider drinking again would be the yellow/red can I think it was raspberry lemonade or something. After drinking about 3 each we went out to the bar and followed it up with a few pitchers of Yuengling and a few Rocky Mountain MFs shots. Got home drank the other 2 and then watched tv until we passed out. I remember the entire thing, and nothing out of the ordinary occurred, ie our hearts didn't explode. That being said, we both consume a hell of alot of alcohol and energy drinks on a daily basis. I think if you don't drink often this could easily be a blackout in a can...for less than $3 I can understand why these things are popular w/ the college crowd.

These keep bar tabs down!!! $2 before the bar and then go out. Wonderful haha, some of them taste straight awful, the orange one (orange flavored haha) tastes like shit. They pack quite a punch haha, I cant say I really enjoy the taste but a few of them are easy enough to get through. Way better than bringing beer or liquor to my friends places (no sharing, less money). They've been around for quite some time now

I like the fruit punch one's. It's the only flavor I have found that I like. I drink one of them to get the night started right. It's like drinking 3 beers and drinking a couple of the tall redbulls at once. I don't go past one or I may never go to sleep though. Everyone should try it at least once, but remember it's not a high quality drink. There is a reason that it's 2 bucks and they sell them at every convient store. ;)

Seems like the reincarnation of Cisco to me(except Cisco wasn't loaded with stimulants, that I know of anyway). None of y'all are really old enough to remember Cisco. It was sold in basically a wine bottle, tasted good and had a warning on it that said "this is not a wine cooler" lol. Two of them would knock you stupid(if you could make it that far), nearly to the point of hallucination. It got banned many years ago & I still miss it. Cheap as hell, just like this stuff and the only place to find it was the hood.

I work in a liquor store and we sell a lot of them, never had one myself though. I'm not an energy drink drinker.

Apparently they've been on the news recently and some people are expecting them to get pulled because it appeals to minors or something? I see no reason to ban it. But some guy did come in and told us his friends daughter said that she could buy them, it was assumed this girl wasn't 21. (CNN) -- The Food and Drug Administration is preparing to ban caffeinated alcohol drinks, Sen. Charles Schumer said Tuesday.

The FDA, which has been reviewing the drinks since last year, declined to comment on the report. Spokeswoman Siobhan Delancey said the matter was still under review.

But Schumer, in a statement issued to the media, said the FDA will rule that caffeine is an unsafe additive to alcoholic beverages, effectively banning them from the U.S. market.

"Let these rulings serve as a warning to anyone who tried to peddle dangerous and toxic brews to our children. Do it and we will shut you down," Schumer, D-New York, said in the statement.

Critics say such drinks -- leading brands include Four Loko and Joose -- mix as much as three cups of coffee with three cans of beer and are designed to appeal to younger consumers accustomed to consuming high-caffeine energy drinks.

A 23.5-ounce can of Four Loko contains either 6 or 12 percent alcohol by volume, depending on state regulations.

The combination of caffeine and alcohol -- which also is found in drinks like rum and cola -- allows drinkers to consume alcohol for a longer period of time without headaches, dry mouth or other unpleasant side effects, according to Kevin Clauson, an associate professor of pharmacy at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Schumer's office said a recent study found that young drinkers who combine alcohol and caffeine are more likely to be injured, sexually assaulted, drive while drinking and require medical attention than those who drink non-caffeinated drinks.

In the latest news, several Washington state college students became ill in October after drinking Four Loko.

Phusion Products, the manufacturer of Four Loko, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.

But the company said in a letter to regulators posted on its website last week that it disagrees that the mixture is inherently unsafe.

"If mixing caffeine and alcohol is the most pressing concern, addressing it would be best accomplished by creating laws that apply to the entire caffeinated alcoholic beverage category -- not specific, individual products and not just beers or malt-based products," the company said in its letter. "This is especially important given that liquor-based beverages have three to four times the alcohol content as products like ours. If product-specific bans remain the preferred course of action, we will protect our rights as a business to the fullest extent of the law."

If the FDA does move to ban the drinks, they would join New York, Washington, Utah, Michigan and Oklahoma in ejecting the products from store shelves.

My local liquor store voluntarily pulled it already, can't say I blame them, I think this stuff is awful. It all started 4-5 years ago with Sparxx or whatever it was, I remember kids bringing them into class, no concealing or anything, because nobody assumed it contained alcohol.

In my opinion, this stuff doesn't need a Federal ban, but it is a horrid product. Just like drinking tons of red bull will give you hard palpitations, 'uppers' and 'downers' taken at the same time have nasty effects on your system. I've known quite a few people that have ended up in a hospital bed after a night with too many jaeger bombs or vodka red bulls.

I don't drink this Loko stuff but at $1.99/can and some people not even IDing young kids when selling it, it's a recipe for disaster, as evidenced. I'm glad it's being pulled from shelves voluntarily by some stores. Of course, one can easily drive over to the ghetto and find gas stations selling all varieties.

Before Sparxx, they had regular "four", it was on and off the shelves real quick due to the wormwood controversy. But yeah, I can see where inexpereinced drinkers could get themselves in real trouble, real quick.

I go through a case of red bull(at least) and a few bottles of cherry vodka every weekend(split between my wife & I). Cherry bombs > Jager bombs. I had my fill of Jager back in high school and college.

I can't either, but it has happened. That much caffeine in your system is just overload. Knowing when to stop is the differentiator between responsible persons and irresponsibles persons, but the stuff is still bad for you. I had a buddy who worked construction as a supervisor, he'd have 2-3 Monsters a day. One morning he'd had 2 before 8am, he was shaking so bad whil operating machinery they sent him home.

Four Loko seems to have some fad status with younger people, because it's cheap and is considered a 'blackout in a can'. I talk to some of the younger guys from my fraternity chapter who are still in college and they generally pregame with 2-3 Lokos and blackout the rest of the night. While some may consider that fun, I can't help but feel no pity when I see emails about how so and so can't find their car keys, wallet, or explain what the hell happened the night prior.

And for the record, I'm no anti-drinker. My kegerator is always stocked and we generally go through a few bottles of liquor every weekend as well due to college football Saturdays and the like.

And I agree, just about anything is better than Jaeger, yet for some reason I still get suckered into taking shots every once in awhile. What is 10X better than Jaerger-Red Bull is Jaeger root beer. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself, it's actually pretty damned good.

I should clarify that I only drink red bull on the weekend with cherry vodka. Outside of that, I am 100% caffeine free. I think people that go through nine thousand pots of coffee a week, plus drink caffeinated cola all day, are way worse than what I do. I can't stand caffeine, or uppers period. Never understood the point. :confused: Bombers don't phase me because of the upper/downer balancing act. If I tried to drink a regular old red bull....oh dear lord I can't even imagine. A Dr. Pepper will give me horrible shakes.

Vitals for my wife and I are always absolutely perfect, and we've both hit it hard over the years. We understand the fire we're playing with though. :D

There's no way I can bring myself to drink Jager anymore, period. Budweiser, cherry bombs, and shine are the only thing I will drink if I'm looking for a buzz.

I'm pretty sure randomly picked up a couple Ciscos a few years ago. It was orange and I think it was in a normal sized beer bottle. I did get it from a super-ghetto shop. I remember the "warning" on the label as well. Didn't really think anything of it besides that. I guess it could have been on the shelf for years, but I think they still sell it. Probably varies state to state.

I had a decent amount of this 4-locos stuff at a beer-festival. I didn't realize it had caffeine in it. Tasted like all the other sweet high alcohol content pseudo-beers. Is this stuff still around? I've always liked wine.

It appears it is still around. I remember searching the internet a few years ago about it and it was nothing but people begging for it to come back.

It's not wine per se. I mean the manufacturer says it is, but don't expect it to taste like "wine". It's more like a wine cooler or malt beverage taste, not all flavors are equal either from what I remember. From what I've read last night it's hard as hell to find. Typically only ghetto type places have it. I know when I drank it there was only one place that carried it, and it was right in the middle of the hood. That was back in the early 90's.

The same corrupted group that allowed aspartame into diet drinks (and gum) in spite of all the evidence of it causing neurological problems and cancer in lab mice.

It cracks me the fuck up when I see obese people order huge helpings of food, dessert, and a "diet" soda. They think they're making the right decision (albeit a pathetically small one) and they couldn't be further from the truth.

I tried a 4 LOKO a few weeks ago... It was alright. I'll stick to drinking everything else, thanks.

After hearing about this stuff on almost every forum I visit, I've decided to give it a try. I picked up a can of the "Fruit Punch" flavored s**t from a gas station for $2.29. I'm fully expecting it to taste like moldy fruit, we shall see. I also grabbed a can of "Jooce" which was only 10% alcohol.

(And No, I wasn't drinking it while driving)

Well guys,

I am DRUNK!

It isn't any different than a few jager bombs, or a 6-pack of beer, but for $2.29 it gave me one hell of a buzz.

Thats saying a lot considering I drank an entire 24-pack of beer to myself last weekend. Now, I'm definitely not an alcoholic, I work during the week and don't drink a drop of alcohol until Fri/Sat, and Sunday if theres a football game.

The Fruit Punch flavor tasted sort of good at first, then as time went on it tasted worse and worse. Now I'm done and If I go upstairs and hurl, I think I might feel better, actually, I'd put money on me feeling better if I threw up right now.

The plan tonight was to play COD Black Ops after work, but I'm far too inebriated (i cant believe I could even spell that right now) to get any kills, so I'm going to nap until 9PM, and hopefully this shit will have worn off, so I can drink real beer.

Thats' all I've got for now...

EDIT: Its' been about another 10-20 minutes now and I'm starting to feel better. I don't feel like sleeping anymore, got a pretty good buzzed feeling going on. I'm doin' some facebook trolling now.

EDIT #2: Its 7:14 and I'm still awake. As time goes on I'm feeling a hell of a lot better. But I know I better sleep if I want to stay up all night...

They got banned from WA state stores earlier this week, I havent had one yet :/ Maybe I can find a store selling them this weekend and give one a try.
