Who want's to bet me 50 bucks that it will be canceled after one season or sooner?

1st episode will be the the most viewed all new but by the end of the season it will be canceled. Ashton Kutcher is the biggest tool in show biz!

Mark my words!

Hmm. Don't count Ashton out. While I'm not a fan, he's certainly been in more successful movies than Charlie Sheen ever was. I personally think the series will go on for at least two more years, even if next year is bad. They are paying him 1 mil per episode, so that means they've already got all the commercial time sold.

Ashton will do well. I dont think it will be the same as before. I think the show will work. I hated that 70's show. Fucking dribble! But he'll do good in this.

Words marked. ;)

ashton's acting ability is slightly above christian bale, and slightly below david carradine.

p.s.

how much cocaine did charlie sheen do?

....enough to kill 2 and 1/2 men!!!!!!

I guess I missed something...is Ashton replacing sheen? Are they redoing the show completely or just replacing him and continuing with the story line? Last I heard they were offering Sheen his job back for a while.

It was always one of those shows I watched every week and after every episode wondered why. :p

:stupid:

What's going on? Ashton Kutcher is a wee bit young to be replacing Sheen in the story line, if that's what's up.

He's not "replacing" Sheen's character, it's an entirely new character.

Oh, well in that case...it still sounds terrible, lol.

The words in bold are just false. Sheen though nuts, has had a good movie career. Where as Kutcher has had a lack luster big screen career so far.

So are they killing off Sheen's character or something? Keeping the other 2 guys (well guy and the kid)? Be interesting to see how they try to pull that off.

That's what I was thinking as the most probable storyline. Maybe try and make Kutcher Sheen's long lost illegitimate son that inherits everything.

I'm with Paul, I'll watch the first one to see what it's all about, but I can't imagine having much interest in the long run.

You're kidding right? Besides Platoon and Wall Street (which Sheen was NOT the character that made the movie in either of those) what has he done? A bunch of low grade comedy movies that never grossed much, that's what. Major League was probably his next biggest film. The Wraith? Hot Shots? Scary Movie 3,4... Come on.

Ashton on the other hand has been in a lot more commercially successful films, while producing quite a few popular things too.

Ashton has only been in one good thing that was ever successful, That 70's Show. Okay, maybe Dude Where's My Car?

Who I find a better actor?
Sheen > Ashton

Young Guns? Navy Seals? Men at Work? Lucas? Cadence? RED DAWN?

Eh, every time I've seen 2 and a half men it's made me laugh. If I trip over it in the future I'll give it a shot.

And Sheen >> Ashton

I can't see the show working with a replacement character. IMO its the brother dynamic that makes the show work.

It's just not going to be the same without Charlie.

Well when we talk success are we talking hollywood terms, aka money? If so here is a comparison of box office earnings for movies that both were in, and the numbers are adjusted to 2011 value and of course are in the millions:

Sheen:
Platoon = 284.2
Scary Movie 3 = 134.4
Scary Movie 4 = 101.1
Hot Shots = 97.2
Major League = 90.1
Young Guns = 88.7
Wall Street = 86.7

Kutcher:
Cheaper by the Dozen = 169.4
Valentine's Day = 114.0
Open Season = 94.9
What Happens in Vegas = 83.8
No Strings Attached = 70.7
Dude Where's My Car = 70.0
Butterfly Effect = 68.9

I think the numbers speak for themselves, advantage Sheen. Clearly several of these movies were not good but they were very successful in hollywood terms. Now if you want to talk quality of films I would be happy to but the reality is that Sheen walks Kutcher in this category too IMO.

Oh dear lord, please don't tell me you think Navy Seals and Men at Work are good movies LOL! Young Guns I'll give you, but he wasn't the star, and he got killed off in it fairly quickly IIRC. Don't remember him in Lucas, never heard of Cadence, and Red Dawn is (although a cool story) a cheesy 80's movie.

LOL I have the Wraith on DVD. I bought it for the car, not for Sheen lol.

As far as the money issue goes, I'd like to know where that list was, I think those numbers are off a bit, even inflation adjusted! Let's face it guys... neither Charlie or Ashton are great actors IMO. That is born out by Sheen's success on Two and a Half Men, where he plays a drunken, womanizing buffoon... Oh snap. He wasn't even acting was he? ;)

i admit...i actually like the movie "Good Advice". but even movies aside; sheen STILL > ashton.

spin city > 70s show, imho.

mind you, i think sheen is a tool of biblical proportions and probably 2nd in asshattery to only gary busey; slightly ahead of kevin federline (not that he counts...)

for crying out loud, DANNY MASTERSON would have been a better replacement than ashton. seriously.

What about Hugh Grant? Supposedly he was offered the role and he turned it down. I can't see him working on that show at all.

UT - sorry man, but Sheen's got it all over Ashton as far as a movie career goes imo. I loved AK in The Butterfly Effect, but that's his stand out for me. We dont get Punkt down here that often so I can't rate that show.

For some reason, The Butterfly Effect was the only one that I liked his role in as well.

How "Dude, Where's My Car" made slightly more in the box office, I have no idea. http://www.stealthify.com/images/icons/smilies/shake.gif

lol Your a female so I can understand some of why you'd hate the show "even if you haven't seen it". It kind of more male humor than funny for female thats all. Not saying being female you wont like it either but theres more chance you wont because of it.

money figures pulled from here, domestic total gross:
Box Office Mojo (http://boxofficemojo.com/)

Then using the year released I adjusted the total domestic gross for inflation. And agreed on Sheen playing Sheen on Two and a Half Men.
