Yup, I can't say how long but I'm a semi-comfortable time out from having to hop on a bird for my third -and hopefully final- trip to the wonderful resort known as Bagram, Afghanistan.
This whole thing is pretty much old hat by now so I'm already prepping my external hard drive for the inevitable down time. What I need from y'all is some suggestions of stuff to download. At the moment, I either have or am in the process of acquiring the following:
Stargate SG1 Seasons 1-6 (yes I know it goes to season ten)
Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1-4
V seasons 1&2
Babylon 5 Complete Series
Fringe Season 1-3
Dexter
True Blood
Game of Thrones
Bleach
Code Geass
Darker Than Black
Black Lagoon
So help me out. I put this thread on another forum so I'll go ahead and say no to Californication. I fucking hate David Duchovny.

The Borgias I think has one or two episodes left. I like that show better than Game of Thrones... plus it based on actual events. I knew it something to do with the Godfathers movies... here is a quote I found.
Rodrigo Borgia, a man who was the inspiration for Don Corleone and the movie The Godfather. Borgia becomes Pope during the late 1400′s and corruption, adultery, murder, and just about every other awesome sinful act you can think of takes place. Rodrigo is played by Jeremy Irons who doesn’t even attempt a Spanish accent. However, he plays the character so well that you don’t really care.

Yeah, there is a game that I'm playing right now that deals specifically with the Borgia's. Oh, and I've read all the books out for Game of Thrones so that's why I'm so into it :)

That show baffles me. Some episodes are downright hilarious. Others are incredibly stupid. A few are just, eh. It's all over the map. Really hard to like a show and commit to watching when you never know whether it's going to be funny or stupid.

Firefly
and if you like Bleach... should give Naruto through Naruto Shippuden a try. I have seen them all, but It was rough times trying to get through Bleach filler. I was skipping 10-20 episodes at a time at some points.

The Shield. EPIC.
I don't understand how you could like SG1 and not Atlantis. It really picks up after season 1.

I'm starting with SG1 because I've never watched any of it. I felt it was kind of going overboard downloading 10 Seasons of SG1 and then going through a couple of seasons of SGA then moving onto SG Universe.

Don't bother with star gate universe its been cancelled and will only leave you hanging
Also Stargate Atlantis and SG1 kinda intersect each other at points and won't make sense if you don't watch it all in the right order

+1 for Sons of Anarchy, Weeds and Spartacus: Blood and Sand (Season 1), Gods of the Arena ("Season 2", actually a prequel) Vengeance (Season 2, should be out 2012)
Also Rome (HBO series, 2 seasons) was awesome if you ask me, however it too was cancelled and will leave you hanging, sort of.
Some anime to kill more time... Cowboy Bebop, Blue Gender, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo.
cougar town. :suspect:
i've also heard some positive things about:
the tudors
nip/tuck
(my personal favorite) code-monkeys
(here's a throwback) dark-angel
(and another) the outer-limits (90's version)
silk-stalkings (best crime drama ever, imho)
(and for sheer pointlessness) pacific-blue
...maybe "my name is earl".
i'm guessing that most of that won't interest you though, jeff. ;)
p.s.
every episode of tosh.0. :D

Justified. Only 2 seasons so far. More interesting than the warmed over bullshit the major networks keep spewing out.

I've never heard of half of these shows...... I guess that's what happens when you live upsidedown in Australia...... anyway.
These are all very mainstream.
House
Bones
NCIS
NCIS LA
Castle
The Mentalist
Also as stated above check out firefly [same guy as Castle]. Anyone watch castle and firefly? did you notice the costume castle wore for haloween?
Also if your into Anime check out some of the really old school stuff like Rurouni Kenshin. Still the best anime ever made. Or Trigun.

Excellent recommendations everyone. I actually do already have Kenshin and I believe I have all of firefly, need to check. I'll get Justified set up for DL. I also am slowly acquiring Game of Thrones but I've read all of the books and with Martin being on the set for every episode nothing is surprising me, plus HBO has been monitoring the downloads like a fucking hawk. I'm not a huge fan of Nip/Tuck so probably won't be downloading that.
Coincidentally I am addicted to Bones so I don't need to DL that as I've seen every episode (any one else say "what the fuck" at the end of this seasons finale?).
Thanks. Once these are wrapped up it's on to movies.
house. rofl. let me guess....sarcoidosis?
