I just paid a visit to your site and noticed a new intercooler kit option. Split Second Motorsports - Performance Parts (http://splitsecondmotorsports.com/fmic.htm)
I'm interested in expoloring this option and have lots of questions...
Do you have more info or installed pictures of the kit?
Size of storage Tank?
Assumed tank mounting location?
Power requirements and mounting location for pump?
Heat exchanger mounting location?
Kit weight?
Overal weight at full fluid capacity (water)?
Efficiency rating?
Boost drop and turbo lag/spool as compared to air to air?
Weight comparison vs. Air to Air FMIC?
Thanks ahead of time...

Assumed tank mounting location? Rear Hatch passenger Side
Power requirements and mounting location for pump? 12V switched ignition
Heat exchanger mounting location?in place of an FMIC fills mouth of any 3s bumper
Kit weight?
Overal weight at full fluid capacity (water)?depends if you run the ice box which is not necessary for street use
Efficiency rating? 20% cooler without ice box (street driving in traffic)
Boost drop and turbo lag/spool as compared to air to air?(less then .5 psi drop)
Weight comparison vs. Air to Air FMIC?(12 lbs heavier due to water without ice box)

What's the capacity of the icebox?
Overall weight of the unit?
20% cooler intake charge temp without the icebox. Would it be fair to say he AIT charge temps in the 70's on just water and sub 50's with icebox?
DO you have any install pics?

You can easily make your own. I making my own and using cores from these people which specialize in water/air intercoolers. Great site from reference

Yes you can this site has some nice products. but unless you are as skilled as oohnoo I would not suggest this route. here is the price breakdown of what you would need to come close to our kit if purchased from that site
300.00 for the core needed but it would have to be modified unless you know how to weld aluminum
about 30.00 building a nice bracket setup to mount the unit
140.00 in pipe
another 80.00 in couplers and clamps
150.00 for heat exchanger
50.00 pump
120.00 for ice box
and about 100.00 in hose (if you are using the ice box ) if not then about 20.00
so about 1000.00 in cost from this site
plus shipping

it can hold 20lbs of ices. overall size is 14x9x6.
Ice box weight is a couple of pounds
intercooler weight is 18lbs
Heat Exchanger Overall Size: 32"x9.5"x3.5" weight about 16lbs
dry weight estimate on total kit is about 45lbs

I don't know about that whole make your own for cheaper Bob. I looked into it and could definitely make my own. It would run about $750 in parts alone. Icebox, Charge Tank, Heat Exchanger, 30' of 5/8" Braided Hose and (4)fittings, pump, sheet metal / tube, and wiring is about $750. The piping, mounting bracket, warranty, and shipping makes it worth it. Hell, they charge under $900 shipped for 3/S members. To me that's totally worth it and I couldn't do it for much cheaper. Hell they prolly only make $50 on the whole deal.

If you already have a front mount then it's a piece of cake, just splice one of these in. The heat exchanger (radiator) would go right in front with the pump on passenger side front fender area. Piece of cake really, no welding necessary. Your making it out to be harder than it really is, I suppose it's just how "inventive" you want to be. Can all be had for $650, and that's for one that supports 1200hp. What's really cool is these have a .2 pressure drop, that's POINT .2 :coo3l:
Unless your drag racing there's no reason for an ice box.
Still curious to see how this other setup, might be worth it.

It's not just the .2 pressure drop, its the temp and the spool. You only have like 4 feet of intercooler pipe total and the charge temp can be in the mid 40's.
Scope this plumbing idear once you move the battery out of the way... almost like it's supposed to sit in the engine bay. How easy would this be to make pipe for... :D

The first one is just too damn big and the second link doesn't work. As you mentioned most of these are supposed to sit in your engine bay. The only area that would work is by the intake and battery. But yes that would be ideal, I just haven't found one that would work the best for our application especially with 2 turbo's. Let me think about it some more.

Take the first link and shrink it down. 2 1/2" dual inlet 3 1/2" single outlet with (2) 8 x 12 x 4.5 cores. Would look perfect.

funny when I designed my kit back in 04 no one thought it it would work and it added to much weight to the car....

Shoot Von, it's what like 15-20lbs more at most? It was always a time vs. money thing for me. For under $900 with an icebox you're stealin it. How much did your setup cost back in the day? I say damn... prices are a little depressed right now.
Got any old pics you could post up?

Credit goes to where it is due. I have been eyeballing a picture of Von's W2A since it was posted. this whole system was built around his idea. Just couldnt put it together for a good price till now.
Trying to find a intercooler that will work perfectly for the 3/s is not going to happen. it has to be made. Trust me we contacted everyone so that we could save time and costs but no one was offering what we needed. So we had to build it. Im almost done with another setup ill shoot some more pics of this one. our core is a dual 2" inlet single 3" outlet. no piping between the TB and intercooler. Blow off valve is attached to the IC. this is a 1200hp setup in theory we dont have a 1200 hp car to test it. but we have a 900hp car that we are building this next set up for.
