I can't believe it when I look up at the banner and see that the 2011 3S NG is only 51 days away! That's amazing. Of course, as usual, I'm both excited and scared to death. My schedule makes this incredibly difficult to pull off, and this year we've definitely added some new complications. So if you PM me and don't get a response, please understand that I'm being flooded with them right now and just can't respond to every one. If you get a brief answer that comes off as not-so-nice, please understand that I can't keep up. And to all who have offered to help, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Unfortunately, this is one of those times when I just have to be the one to do this stuff.

Here's what you CAN do to help the NG. We need to get these numbers up. If you're planning to come, please register. We need an idea of who is coming and who isn't. If you've registered and not paid and aren't coming, it would be helpful to know that. If you can't pay now, but plan to come, just register. We'll know.... And if you're not coming and haven't registered, please don't.

Here's what else you can do... TELL YOUR FRIENDS. As you all know, 3SI has greatly hindered our ability to promote this event. I know they finally allowed one thread (and only one, which didn't provide much information), but they won't allow me or anyone else to post about the event. So we need you to tell everyone you know about it.

I think what people don't understand is that this could very well be the last NG. I won't be planning next year's event. I can't speak for the other Committee members, but I know at least one other is considering stepping down as well. And no one has stepped up to say that they want to take over. I've promised that if we get 200 registered cars, I'll stay. The rest is up to you guys. The future of this amazing event is in your hands.

On top of that, this year we have amazing venues. We have extra-special things planned like the pace lap at IMS. This year is an anniversary celebration, so let's all work together to make it extra-special. Make your commitment, and help get all of your friends to commit, too. This IS going to be a hell of a party. Don't miss it. 51 days!!!

Common gang, if I can make a 4000 mile, 6 days of driving round trip for this in my 19 year old, 212,000 mile Stealth, you can make it too!

I'm registered and paid. Stealth is getting painted in the coming weeks, ready to rock.

Get off your butts and register people! Support something you're passionate about - this could be the last NG! These cars are not getting any younger. This year is gonna be awesome.

Also, the NG is a major part of keeping this little 3/S community going. It's bullshit that 3SI is playing politics by not advertising an event that ultimately supports THEiR community.

Lori you've got me all emotional now, I'm going to the gym.

I just looked at the registration list and I think I need to call out a few states and say "Shame on you"

New York, 1 registered. I know there's a boatload of members in NY, where are you?
Pennsylvania, 0 Registered. Really? All the members in Philly and Pittsburgh and not one sign up?
Maryland, 0 registered. I used to live there and I know despite the small size of the state, there's a lot of owners there. Even Rhode Island has someone registered.
West Virginia, 0 registered. There's a couple of very active members in WV, but when it's time to show, they're no shows?

Time to step up and show your support for both the platform and for this site.

This year sounds amazing. I wish I could go, but too many things in my life are conspiring against it this year. However, for those of us who can't go and would like to contribute monetarily if need be, let us know please. Thanks Lori.

You "might" be able to add 4 people to that list....

I am trying to see if both my son's CAN attend (jobs > NG)

If they can, then JimVR4 is wanting to come from CALI to hang with us (flying in)...

Still up in the air at this point....

To others reading, if you have NOT attended an NG, there are ALOT more than cars going on there (friendship, good food, a REALLY nice car show in an AWESOME location)....

Might be the last one sadly...

Bob. :)

Im going and bringing a friend. See if I cant get a few more to go. I was thinking, we can spam other car forums and kick their ass all week in the events. muhahaha.

Perhaps our sponsors can also advertise the NG banner on their parts sites with a link to the info thread.

Sorry Lori, I always seem to wait till the last minute to register but I will soon. I know a lot of people do that. I wouldn't worry to much, I know this will be an epic NG.

As much as I hate to go to the other site I'll go and bump that only thread.

Both hotels are right next to each other, so they're both the main hotel.

I really wanted to make it down this year but between money, my job, and my car being in a million pieces, I don't think it's going to happen :(

Or just split a hotel room with someone and remember that your registration is on us this year for all your help at the banquet last year... Or did you forget?

Chris, it'd be fantastic to see you again - it's been YEARS!!! But I'll believe it when I see it. ;) Didn't you tease me last year and say you were coming?

Chris is coming for sure. He's already got the time off, and the plane ticket purchased. He's coming to my place the Saturday before, and we are driving up Tuesday morning :w00t:

And yeah I saw the hotels are like right next door to each other.

I had to cut back to the weekend instead of the whole week but I'm planning on getting everything paid up and hotel reservations made by tomorrow.
My daughter is coming with me for a well deserved Girl's mini vacation for us both.
She has already asked me something about the pool and speedos....:dontknow:

Lori/Alan,

Ok, I have registered but I did not pay yet due to some questions. I am going to drag race my DSM. I am bringing a guest who is not a member of any 3S site ect. I want to also bring my vr4 so I have a 3000gt at a 3s event. Since I do not have a trailer and I need someone to drive both, I want to know how to sign up properly.

If my guest drives my vr4 to the NG can he still be a guest? Or does he need to make his own name and register himself? They are both my cars and he is a guest who is not part of the forums and wants to come so I thought it would be an easy way to have both my cars there.

I see it only lets me list one car and when I pick guest, I can only choose not driving. He is not racing in any events or anything like that. He is just going to drive my vr4 there and then be my guest. Will this be okay with me paying the 215 that is my total now? Or is there an extra cost you can add? Or does he need to make his own and pay full?

Lori

This is two separate registrations because it's two separate cars. Registration doesn't mean anyone is racing. I'm sure you've noticed that races are separate. However, in order for both cars to be covered under our insurance, they must be registered separately. Also, this is the only way for both to be entered into the car show or to participate in the IMS pace lap.

11secondFWD
05-04-2011, 01:05 AM
Ok, I figured but I thought I would ask. I was only going to one car, the 3000gt vr4, go in the car show and IMS pace lap. I just wanted the other one there for drag racing only, since it is not a 3s anyway. It would just sit in the hotel parking lot other than drag racing day. But I understand if I need 2 registrations, I just kind of seen it as people who trailer their cars have a truck there also and that is having 2 cars, so I didnt know if I was allowed to have an extra one just sit at the hotel other than to go drag racing.

Lori
05-04-2011, 10:01 AM
But the key is that it would be drag racing. I can't allow someone to have two vehicles share a registration by choosing one car to show up at each event. I understand your point about the truck, and it's valid. If this wasn't my last year, I'd give that further consideration and possibly need to have a charge for a tow vehicle next year (some people may not be happy with you right now for that). But this is my last year. And the fact is that you want to bring two cars and run a different one at each time. That's like saying one guy is bringing a car but won't be racing it or showing it or anything, so he'll just come as a guest of another guy who's bringing a car and plans to show it in the car show only. That wouldn't be fair, either. I'm sorry, but the answer is still that you need two registrations.

11secondFWD
05-04-2011, 12:27 PM
I completely understand. I will tell my friend he needs to register himself. I just wanted to know how I should pay before I do. If he doesnt want to pay that much then I will just pick one car to take. No biggie. Thanks Lori.
