So... just picked him up Thurs night. Went through quite a few names but nothing really seems to fit. Toying with the idea of calling him "Turbo." :) Suggestions?

Zangief. /thread

We really don't have a good gauge on him yet. He was probably the smartest in the litter, according to the breeder. He doesn't rush into things like a lot of puppies would, he's cautious most of the time until he gets comfortable with his surroundings. Likes to chew... most things known to man.
Don't think Zangief would go over well with the missus LOL

Dodger, though some people might think you like LA.
If it were a female you could name her Mitsi.

I know he's not going to be a dwarf but from the look of things you could call him Sleepy.

Fluffy? Jokes jokes.
Mitsi is nice, sounds kinda cutesy but you know, a car name underneath
Don't call him 'ringlands' though......thats just cursing the poor thing!
Well our dogs name is Matilda if thats any help, Or we had Izzy as another one (Isabella)

Nitro.

LOL some good suggestions. Mitsi seems more like a girls name than a boy, I did think about "Kawi" from Kawasaki. Nitro is in the same realm as Turbo, it would work but... eh... I don't know. I think we're gonna give it another two days, if we can't think of a better name than Turbo, that will be it. He really is a smart dog, he's almost batting a thousand on the potty training front, which was very surprising for us. On the downside though, we've had to hide/move/put up everything that he can get his little teeth on, as he loves to chew everything but his toys.

This could be good... I'm a Star Wars fan, and while his official name would be Chewbacca, we would just call him Chewie. :) I'll def. keep it in mind!

Call him nawwwws LOL
It works in the chewing factor and the car realm NOS.
You could also call him Hookem

While hookem is awesome, I think Chewy is better since it ends in an "ee" sound... Along those lines, Shipley would work too.

in no particular order:
optimus prime
red cat
aristotle
socrates
king leonidas
maximus decimus meridius
dick tracy
jeff
Goldens are the best.
"Turbo" would be great, and ironic too, until you find out if he really is a "Turbo"; it works either way.

you should name him Booster

LOL I had a dog about 10 years ago that we named "Lord Apollo Creed" because his big brother that we had a few years before him was named Rocky. Here's what I think are potentials that we've both agreed on:
Turbo (my parents think this is a really stupid name for a dog though, and say they will call him Bailey if we name him this.)
Sam (while lately in pop culture, Sam seems to be short for Samantha, I'm thinking back to Lethal Weapon 2 and Riggs' dog was a golden named Sam)
Chewbacca (we'd call him Chewy... gf is not a Star Wars fan at all, and has already said she won't agree to this... But I bought the dog, so... :Tongue_001: )
Toby (as Adam said, it has that 'ee" sound, so it sounds good to say when he's been good and works when he's bad too lol
Indiana Indy for short, car/movie related (What is this Junior? That's his name. We named the dog Indiana.)
Kawi (I like the sound of it, but it'd be a tough sell)
Maybe a few others, this is harder than it was to name my car LOL

LOL I don't think he'll ever be able to pass as a Cujo! Went for a walk the other day, and we walked past a fenced yard. Unknown to me, there was a huge (from the sound of it) dog in the back yard who started barking LOUD. My little dog took off running... until he hit the end of the retractable leash lol.

Not near as bad as the tea cup chiuahua (sp?) my parents had.
My nephew had a toy stegasauraus dinosuar that walked and roared when you hit a button on its back. It was on the floor and he hit the button and it started walking toward the dog and it yiped and pissed itself right there.

Somethimes they pick their own names.
Try out a few and see what he likes best.
My dog is Roger because it was the only name he would respond to.

Some S.O.B. stole him while my neighbor watched from too far away to do anything about it.

That sucks man. :(
Yup.
That dog was like lots of Goldens, though - come into the yard, you'll get licked to death.
Try to get into the house or the car, he'd rip your face off.
He wasn't always playing defense, y'know?

We have a winner! Eventually, this is what we did. We started with a list of about 25 names and narrowed it down to a few that we liked, and that we liked the sound of, and that we thought would fit. Turbo, Chewie, Sam, etc, those were all in there... but the only name he responded to somewhat consistently was "Cody."
So, Cody it is. :) Thanks for the help everyone!

I miss my two red belly pirahnas. Those things would destroy anything that got close to the water. Had to clean the tank with metal weave gloves.

Yup. They grow soooo fast. Ended up having to get mine outside of Omaha since they are illegal within the city limits. Great pets though.

I started the thread in early April, just updated it today with a new pic of him. He's got a name now. ;)
This is my Kenna at about 6 months; she weighed about 35 lbs, and weighs about 65 lbs at 5 yrs.

Even as a larger/heavier male...what the hell are you feeding him?
That must be an older pic, too - sure doesn't look like 58 lbs, there.

The toy makes him look smaller, that bone is a foot long, to give you an idea of the size of his head. We feed him Eukanuba Lamb and Rice mixed with Eukanuba Large Dog Puppy mix, and lots of duck jerky. He's 57 lbs on the scale today... I'm sure there's a large present for me in the backyard. The duck jerky is for added protein, believe it or not, he was one of the runts of the litter, and the smallest male dog.
Huh.
I gotta find a recent pic of Kenna...
Okay, this is like 30 seconds ago:

Well, there would be the extra 7-or-so pounds of weight - she is a wee bit of a horse, but her skirts need a nicking, too.
Have to get that done before winter, so she can fill back in.
