I have searched for a different ATX shifter on this site, as well as that "otehr" site and I have not been able to locate a different shifter. Ours looks like shite. I was told tehre was one out of a stratus or something, that can be modified to fit our cars and looks better. If anyone can direct me to somethin' PLEASE post up.

Thanks

p.s. tried to edit the spelling and it wouldn't save it corrected. Sorry HMMM?

At one point I was in the process of installing a B&M hammer in my 92 sl. Had it mounted flush in the console, adn saw no reason I couldn't make the linkage cable work (the OD would require a seperate button), but then decided to do a manual trans swap instead. I still have the shifter in a closet somewhere, maybe one day I'll use it on something.
Wish I could find pics from when it was in the console, because it looked very cool.
You won't find a tougher shifter than the Hammer. Once mounted, it was rock solid.
The top of the shifter was just over 4 inches from the console, considerably shorter than the stock one.

This was my 1st idea of the console top, but on actually going to mount it, I found I could bring the shifter to where the bottom of the shift boot came flush with the existing console. Have pics somewhere, just can't find the rest.

Amazon.com: Pilot Automotive PM-2236 Motorsport Manual/Automatic Shift Knob: Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Automotive-PM-2236-Motorsport-Automatic/dp/B001PKLWM4)

maybe one of these?

...or i guess you could copy me and use nail-polish remover on the logo of one of these before installing it...

1:58 gives you a good look at what evan did with the panda's shifter.

Granny has a button shifter. A button per gear.
