View Full Version : Carbon Fiber wrapping..

So, its defiantly not near perfect.. but heres what I got.. I decided to use something pretty small so I didn't end up wasting it, but could see what its like.. the quality is amazing!

So, heres what I did.. I covered a spark plug cover..

I think the look is pretty slick.. I plan on doing a lot more parts and hope i'll get good enough to sell this skill soon! I sprayed it with clear coat to get a shine and im waiting for it to dry and i'll post pictures..

yea, its a crappy cell phone camera.. I put clear coat on it afterward, and I plan on taking it outside today and getting more pictures.. or even some on a valve cover.. It has obvious flaws, but im super siked that In a few hours I had it done and most of it looks pretty awesome.. (the spark plug cover ended up being rough cause of the crazy shape of it, but a lot of pther parts would be waaaay easier.. I don't think its vinyl.. may be though.. its weird, like cloth and a sticker at the same time.. the texture is amazing..


heres a brighter picture of it.. its hard to catch the carbon fiber pattern with my cell phone camera but I held it at an angle so the light would reflect better..

It would be much cooler if it was real carbon fiber.....just sayin'.

Depends if you buy it in small quantities or large. I just bought a roll of blue/black carbon fiber cloth that's 5 ft by 12 ft for $175. I could practically do the whole car with that much.

yea but I can get 16 sq ft of this for 130.00 shipped to my house!
