2nd gen brakes on a 1st gen

So i read the how to and did some research before i performed my transfer.

the how to explained you had to do some drilling or cutting of some sort to get them to fit, can anyone explain this better to me because when i did the transfer everything went on perfect without any of the "cutting" being done.

the only difference between 1g and 2g tt brakes is how they mount. if you used 2g calipers; you don't have to cut/drill anything. it's trying to use 1g calipers with 2g rotors that creates the issues.
