I don't think it was bad enough to actually get water into my system. I know about fluid injection and I would have been more concerned if it was bleeding as bad as it was right away. It took about 2 minutes to even start bleeding. It finally stopped bleeding with enough paper towels.

It has been 3 hours and have yet to feel the slightest bit of heart pain. Thats when you know fluid injections are dangerous. You get aches, pains in the chest and left arm. It causes basically a mini heart attack. 3 hours is enough time for my body to take the water out of the blood if there was any introduced.

I am an Eagle Scout, I think I got it handled LOL

Definitely not. It was the first time I have been cut by a power washer and it is just an interesting wound. It looks like I had one of those crayon red markers on my wrist just putting the tip on it and letting it bleed out into the skin. If I didn't tell you it was blood, you would probably think it was a marker.

Injecting water into your veins can kill you, but you have to think about it, they also put saline (read water and salt solution) into IV's. It is mostly dangerous when it is introduced under pressure because it can get trapped in the walls of the vein and the cells of the surrounding tissue.

And normally I would go and get something like this checked out to be on the safe side, but I just lost my health insurance because it was just too damn expensive. I was paying ~$110/mnth for just myself, not even dental or optical. But I did use it when I had it to get the BB cut out of my hand that was there for 10 years. :P

Damn power washers. Somehow my finger got in front of one a month ago. Instant hole. Chunks of skin on the ground. It never bled much though. It's finally mostly scarred over now. (This was at a do-it-yourself car wash.)

To top that off, I go and buy myself a power washer a couple weeks after. Damn thing was DOA. They swapped it out. ANOTHER DOA. I took the hint and got my money back.

LOL. I have used super glue in a "stab" wound before. Now I just have one nice 9in long scar on my bicep.

I shot the pad of my index finger at point blank range with a high pressure paint sprayer. It put a nice gash into my finger and injected paint into the gash. Hurt like a mofo!

I love my pressure washer. Great tools, treat like a saw and no worries. Too late for stupid advice like that? Rub dirt into it, what I did in the service when I lost a bit of my ring and pinky fingers (saved the pinky somehow).... it is a great conversation starter :D

Yeah but a saw doesn't have a cord that comes across the nozzle as you are holding it completely away from your wrist.

I'm pretty sure he means that a saw (chain saw or even table saw) doesn't have anything to distract you like a hose or cord. Both hands are on the saw cutting what needs to be cut.. not fingers. Pressure washers often have cords or hoses that get in the way and it is way to convenient to have your spare hand grab them. Before you know it, chunks of skin are missing.

Thinking back, I am fairly sure that is how my finger got in front of the nozzle. The hose was about to touch my paint. I couldn't let that happen so I blew a hole in my finger instead.

Hmm, I could see that logic. My pressure washer gun and nozzle are exactly my arms length so I guess I could not picture doing that before you explained it. Makes sense to me now and glad you guys are not using more powerful washers then ;)

Lol, sorry for the wording. The hose came across the tip of the gun, twisting it in my wet hand while I was trying to deal with something. Next thing I know I just feel this intense pain.
