View Full Version : Drivetrain Clutch Containment ring for inside of Bellhousing?

Anyone seen any cars with a clutch protection plate, essentially stops the bellhousing from getting shattered if the clutch explodes...been toying with the idea since I've wanted to use a RPS Clutch :p

not the same thing as extra plating to stop the clutch entering the vehicle if it does go boom.

how "often" do the RPS's fail? The only flywheel I've seen blow up was on that SRT4 where it blew through the hood; it was all over the internet.

Are you really that worried to have heavy metal plates welded in?

well, there are quite a few threads about it :p and it'd be nice to have some sort of protection even if it's pretty minimal, it's not the flywheel that explodes, it's the disks in the clutch that generally disintegrate and throw large pieces of carbon out the side of the gearbox
