This is the new mod for the street car , NBF 5 stage dry sump oil system
Enjoy
The Pump Many of the key benefits of a dry-sump system stem directly from moving the oil pump out of the oil pan and making it a separate unit driven by a belt off the crank. Because the pump is now outside the crankcase, it is actually capable of pulling the oil out of the engine, but also the air. By creating a vacuum inside the engine, oil is pulled off engine parts more easily instead of clinging, rings seat in the pistons better, and the resistance seen by the crank as its counterweights swing through the air is basically removed.
Even a small amount of vacuum inside the crankcase can be helpful, but when you built the engine you must be careful to properly seal the engine from leaks using proper seals and extra care. Still, Nextel Cup engine builders are using external oil pumps to pull a vacuum as strong as 26 inches of mercury. For comparison, a perfect vacuum is 29 inches of mercury.
External oil pumps are broken into stages. Typical dry-sump systems use pumps that are between three and five stages (even 6 stages now), One stage is always used as a pressure pump. In other words, it pulls oil from the external tank and pushes it into the engine oil galleries. One stage is strong enough to provide all the pressure necessary. For racing, where excess pressure means lost horsepower, the pressure bypass is often engaged. The other stages are all used to pull oil from the engine after the oil has done its job, and also create a vacuum in the crankcase. A single suction stage can adequately pull enough oil for proper lubrication, but multiple suction stages means a smart engine builder can pull oil from different areas of the engine as well as pull greater amounts of vacuum...

Impressive, So could this prolong turbo life? Without pressure in the crankcase there would be less pressure on turbo seals?

It has nothing to do with turbo life or Pressure. The turbos only have the fee and return , the back pressure from the dry sump don't interfere much with the turbos , actualy nothing at all. i have restrictors on the turbos.

That's actually very reasonable if it includes everything.

Well your saying it puts a vacuum in the crankcase. Pressure in the crankcase can put pressure on turbo seals so I'm thinking it would be safer on turbos that's all.

Yes you right . You don't want back pressure from the return turbo lines and for that i got the return turbo houses really low on the oil pan to be merge an little on the oil so you don't see much vacuum there. I think is safer that way.

i think i spend nothing lol, the 5 stage pump was an spare from the race car, and the rest i did it by my self . OOH i did spend 3/400 dollars in houses and fittings and 9 quarts of oil , ooh and another 440 dollars on the Moroso tank. yes the big money is in the labor i guess...

So how many houses and dollars do I need to get one? Do you plan to sell them?

Lol. I can see the pump costing over a grand, and hoses and fittings arent cheap, as you can see, but there are plenty of people capable of making something like this for themselves. Hell me and my dad could make that pan, no problem. I just dont have the creative insight or motive (why do I NEED that, but nelson probably DOES need it).

How did you get that damper and extension for the belt drive on the end of the crank? It looks like some kind of bolt on?

i would love to why not, that one i made it in the rush i think it took me 2 or 3 days.
You would spend 3/400 dollars in houses and fittings. i could have done the tank almost for nothing but it was easy for me to buy it, in time wise.

yeah , that pump was 1250 custom made from Mangus. The belt drives you buy them per sets with the ratio you need. Its an 7 inches ATI race damper with an custom ATI hub.

I did everything and tuck everything for good fitment and than drop it next door at NRG to finished welding for me.I could done welding to but was easy for me to come back from work next day and see it finished. Tom didn't charge me anything anyway his part of my team/crew.

Now I think there might be a market for hubs like that! I wanted a custom steering wheel but didn't want to sacrifice the cruise control and horn. Most horn kits you get with the adapters you buy never work right.

That's simple and you can do it you self
1- buy an eclipse hub for momo wheels , i think is about 78/80 bucks
2- cut the bottom part that attaches to the column off from your stock steering wheel , do the same on the new hub as well
3-weld the new hub up part to the low part of the stock wheel and you r all set.
4-Now that you don't have the air bag you can use those wires for another purpose.
5-for the cruse control you have to do an little mounting mod .

God my english is bad , i hope this heps and you can understand.

What's the deal on the ATI damper? Details?

What's the deal on the ATI damper? Details?

You can use any type of ATI damper for your need/ratio/stroke use but, you have to have an custom "billet" Hub . There were only 2 made by ATI to an friend of mine (AJ) and i bought both from him years ago along with other stuff. I also have the blue prints with difference off sets, i can have them made more or i can just use one of my local CNC machine shop to do it. They were about $500 each at that time.
I use an SFI 7 inches race ATI damper on the street car.

Note: not all the race or any dampers feed your needs in your engine , if you intent to buy one please ask ATI, the company you use or your machine shop to order one for you. Please do not run your engine with out dampers, the stock damper is the perfect choice before you go crazy with power (above 6/650awhp).
Running with out damper is like the "wife" you never know when they go lol.
