Saw it on the news this morning. It is an end of an era today. Not too long from now we will be loosing all the vets from WWII too. If you know people from those wars, and they are willing to talk about their experiences, make sure you listen. Every one of their stories should be recorded for all generations to hear and learn from.
very sad. sadder still, is that in 15 minutes, the US will go back to watching american idol, mindlessly buying apple shodducts, listening to lil-wayne, and google searches for what celebs wore to the last awards ceremony; and no none will give a damn.
...which is why if i did this job only because i felt like being of service to others; i'd hang myself.

And considering he fought in two world wars, was captured as a POW for 3 years, and lived to be 110...I'd say this guy is one tough son' bitch.

Saw this on my desk top news feed this am. Pretty amazed he lived as long as he did. I live by Ft. Hood and most over the businesses have flags at half mast today for him.
