The Noble based solely on the fact of rarity.

Plus it looks cooler. Reminds me of a Ferrari-ish car mixed with a lotus

noble, by a dozen country miles. doesn't matter if it's an m12, m14, or whatever. noble = win. period.

p.s.

its just sad you canīt find many lap times for the noble :( Iīm hardcore nordschleife fan and I would really like to know how capable this car is around that track.

His name is Bryan Troll, and it's got his watermark on the pic, lol. Pretty sure the shot is from a local meet and cruise event for exotics.

Noble. Everyone has a vette. And it is light, which should be great for the track.

vette. that way you can compare your times to others with similar vette laptimes and know how you stack up, skill-wise. other vette drivers will pass on their knowledge of the car's driving nuances. if possible, you can catch a ride with an instructor that has a vette and see exactly how he's driving the track.

you can stand out and be cool with a noble, or learn faster with a stock vette. your call.

true, pete. but with a noble, he's a lot more likely to be able to say "i hold the lap record for my platform." :D

Well, I guess if you like second place either one would do ... But, my Viper ACR/American Club Racer is for sale for $50K in the classifieds. Try to find an 802rwhp vette or Noble.

Many Viper owners came from vette backgrounds and upgraded to a Viper. Vipers also beat Lambos and Ferraris. That's why I've been collecting trophies instead of the vette and Porsche/Mercedes/BMW guys.

If you read the vette forums you'll see that many of the vettes have breakdown and warranty issues. Vipers have warranty issues (cancelled) if you bring a US Viper into Canada, but the cars are awesome. I know people that only race their Vipers and they have a lot of racing miles with unbelievable reliability.

Vettes are ordinary and not impressive. The Noble is an awesome car, except that very few people even know what they are. And I can't even imagine trying to get parts for one. An engine would probably cost more to replace than what you're gonna pay for the car?

these cars go for +- ~30k here (tax free)

vipers are very nice but you canīt register newer than 1996 models here unless you want to spend tens of thousands extra to get it registered so its a no go :(

I've seen some m400īs go for just slightly over 30k but those are hard to catch.

If the instructor is an instructor it shouldn't matter what your driving, right?

Noble. Stock for stock it's more of a track car and that's what you're looking for. Plus it looks better than the Corvette on top of being far more rare.

I recall the Noble getting high marks and really fast (like top 5) lap times on Top Gear.

It definitely has the edge in cachet over the 'Vette.

Vette. Just in case you crash.

i would take a panoz over a vette, and a noble over a panoz.

Are you looking for a first track car? I believe that's a proper inference to make? If you had been doing it for a while you wouldn't be asking us. :p

So, for a first track car, between the two, I'd suggets the corvette for all the reasons Pete mentioned.

02-25-2011, 04:22 PM
yeah i guess i shoulda asked that. if you've been doing roadcourse for years, yeah go for the noble.

I would say yes my first "track car" . I have owned c5 vette never tracked it tho ..

mb7050

the fact that makes this choise very hard is that noble is rhd .

unless i can find lhd converted one but those are very very hard to find .

mb7050
02-25-2011, 04:33 PM
and the second fact is that vette is a solid car i never had ANY problems with the c5 ..

donīt know how well the noble would take the abuse around nurburgring .
