Anyone have any experience with them? Megan Racing (http://www.meganracing.com/product_detail.asp?prodid=1037&catid=44)

Looks like they offer a pretty aggressive drop. Only about a 15% increase in spring rate for the front over stock. It's a 46% increase in spring rate for the rear though.

A 2 1/2" lowering spring only is for show cars that get parked and are for looks. It would never work in a million years on a stock shock since you're only leaving like 2" of compressed shock travel. Only takes a few times of bottoming a shock out to destroy it so go figure that the springs ebay retail is $100 or so. It makes me wonder if if there's monkeys sitting in cubicles making engineering decisions for these manufactures.

monkeys indeed

man the rear tires would be grinding out the fenders in no time. You can't have that much drop without having ROCK HARD springs. Get Tein S or H techs if you just want to lower the car a bit.

I wouldn't expect to be able to use these springs on a stock shock/strut. I was more or less curious to see if someone has found a good setup utilizing these springs. I'm guessing not though as I have never heard of or seen anyone using these springs in the few years that I have been around these cars.

I have Megan springs on my dsm and really like them. That is with kyb gas adjustable shocks and struts though. Also, Megan springs for a dsm don't lower the car as far.

I will most likely be going with s techs as any of the reasonably priced coilovers seem to be crap.

Thanks for the input guys.:)

other than me needing rear adjustable camber arms (stock are maxed) they are great!! i am thoroughly happy with them in every aspect. no squeaky mice in the back or front, no rubbing, however i can see it being possible with like a 24 offset and 275s lol. ride is nice and comfortable, i lost my ecs but i didnt care for it anyway. so im guessing its in sport mode now, and even then its quite enjoyable. great value. i have not a single bad thing to say. if you want before shots let me know!

First off, i saw price was mentioned 88 + shipping, came to 113 total to the house. i payed 136 for my kyb fronts. second, the car rides AMAZING. ive got compliments all day on it. no house of mice going on either, they are very quite and seated very nicely. they are not very bouncy or rough, however you can obviously tell it is a bit stiffer than factory. as for clearance, i have 18s and they have about 1 1/2 inch to the fender on front and 1 inch on rear.

The back of the car seens really low. And the rear drivers side looks pushed forward. I like the front rideheight, but the rear, can someone tell these lowering spring manufacturers we want the wheel gap to be even?

Glad to see those springs are working out for you. You definitely need to get adjustable control arms though. Rear looks way out of wack. Have you tried to get an alignment yet?

I like the front rideheight, but the rear, can someone tell these lowering spring manufacturers we want the wheel gap to be even? The back of the car seems so low because there is so much negative camber. I'm sure it would look fine if the alignment was in spec.

Here is a photo that was posted on a certain other forum of a car with these megan springs, ecs shocks/struts, 18" X 9.5" wheels, and 265/35-18 tires. The guy claims that he hasn't noticed any rubbing.

The wheel gap in the front and the rear looks pretty even to me.

Yes, and they said they won't come out anymore. Sooo that's why I'm getting adjustables. And thatnks for the compliments. I wonder why my car is so much lower than his.. Hmm. Next to go on is testpipe and new catback with c6 tips :D

You must not have seen his car before the springs. He had the wheel gap from hell.

They are 245/35No way... Those have to be 245/40 or 45. 35 series on that tire width would be rubber bands man!

Why don't you have ECS anymore?
I think you're going to need both camber and toe arms at your ride height if there are toe arms for turbo cars. My car isn't even as low as your car is and my toe is out of spec.

I think the reason it looks pushed forward is because I think his toe is really maxed out as well. Not just his camber.

I am wondering if anyone who has had these on for a while now has an update. I like the aggressive drop, but I really do not want to cause issues I can't afford to fix.
Update anyone?

Well if you drop the car as low as I have, you'll wear out you CV axles 2-3x faster than normal. I go through them probably at most 120k if not less (1.5- 2 fingers of visible gap. Also you will bottom the wheels out in the fender wells if you hit some bumps or track tracks too hard, which will eat away some of the splash guard linings, and with enough taken away, you'll expose a little wiring that's underneath there, which I don't know what it goes to. But that's it.
