I got my replacement bellhousing for the one that was damaged a while back and this is what I got, I'm not very happy about this to say the least... This thing was supposed to be put back together and on it's way to being put back into my damn car already.

I was thinking of taking it to a trans shop and seeing if it can be welded and re-machined, what do you guys think?? I'm really pissed about this one...

From what it looks like to me somone didn't line up the shift fork rods and continued to assemble the trans, reguardless.

I think it can be fixed, you would have to weld then drill. :/

I was thinking the same, however... The sleeve inside, how would one get their hands on one of those?

Aluminum, even when new, is hard to weld. After lengthy saturation in oil/gear oil, it is ten times harder to weld, no matter how hard you work to clean it. I suspect you can get a good used one for less than the cost to repair this, presuming the repair works. Just my 1.5 cents worth.

I wouldn't try fixing that. That bell housing is garbage if you ask me.

What's your postal code? The bell housing is $150 plus shipping.

I also might just simply buy a whole new trans when I get back from Sask. My 3r'd gear synchro pretty well pooched just before I tore my car appart, any chance you guys would have one that you'd part with in the ~$1,000 range? And of course shipping on top of that. (25 spline O/S)

We'll check on the condition of the 25 splines we have, and get back to you.

Shipping for the bellhousing will be around $45-50, insured.

It doesn't have to be the best shape, just working and useable really, I could even suffice if you were to rip all the compontents off of it as I have all that in my shop from the one I have right now.

Thanks in advance, Jordan.

I'm sure we have a few that grind 2nd/3rd, but will drive OK... it'll just grind/crunch when you shift, not block you out or anything. If you're OK with one of those, I can get a price from Hans for you. If not, it'll take us a little bit to dig through to see what good one(s) we have.

Well, I'm actually looking for one that doesn't grind at all. I have the 2nd/3rd gring in mine right now and won't have the time to rebuild it when I get back and have everything ready to put back into my car.
