I constantly use the New Post "button" to stay abreast of what is going on or check back on an active thread I am interested in. Either there is a severe lag between a new post being posted and the time its thread gets added and/or moved to the top of the New Post list OR new posts made by the person pushing the New Post button don't get included in the New Post list (which appears to be the case).
Just wanted to make sure that every time there is a new post, regardless of the author, that the involved thread is immediately sorted to the top of the new post list. If I make a new post in a thread and then push New Posts, that thread should be right at the top of the list! It is really annoying to have to go searching for a thread I posted in because it dropped off the New Post list after I made a post.

If you are the one that just posted it will not show up in the new posts. It will only show up in new posts when somebody else posts in it.

That confirms my suspicions, but can you turn off the New Post filter? Of the Forums I am a member of that have a New Post button, this is the only one that screens out your own new posts. As previously mentioned, it is really annoying when trying to quickly recall a thread you recently found there in the first place and aren't sure what Forum it was in . A new post is a new post. I can't begin to imagine that there is any value to 3SGTO for filtering out threads from the New Post list for a member that just posted in one, especially since it only impacts that member and not in a good way. That same thread would appear on every other member's New Post list. It seems to me that it would be a lot simpler for the software just to produce the same list for everyone. Maybe it would even speed up the refresh rate since it wouldn't have to think so hard. Please? I can't be the only one thinking this.

I don't understand why you would want it there. If you just read it and posted in it then why would you want to see it again until somebody posted in it. All forums that use v-bulletin do this. IDK if there is an "active topic" button here but on the other site it would leave that thread up that you just posted in.

When reading a thread for the first time, particularly long ones, I'll post a reply and go on to something else. Within a few minutes I'll frequently think of something else to say, or want to review something I just read, and want to go back to that thread, which is more difficult the way this software is set up. You are right about the Active Topic button on some of my other forums that use v-bulletin, and the rest use phpBB which doesn't have that problem. Since this is a v-bulletin Forum maybe we could just add the Active Topic button to this Forum like the other v-bulletin Forums I use. It would sure make navigating a lot easier. Hopefully it is as simple as turning the feature on and giving it a spot to live on the tool bar. Many thanks if you can do it.

If you want to find threads you have posted to on the menu bar click "quick links" then click "subscribed threads".
I will add active topics as soon as I get the update ready and loaded.

Thanks for all your help and attention on this matter. I am looking forward to the Active Topics button.
"settings" will also show you your subscribed posts.

This.
The point of new posts is to show posts that you have NOT read. If you read a thread and posted in it, then it should not show up in new posts. I post on a few forums and not one puts one I just posted in in new posts.
