View Full Version : Thoughts on JGTC style wide body fenders
I've always liked the front fenders on the Z-tune GTR and found this pic of a GTO with something similar. I think the vent on the GTO is a bit too large and prefer the size of the GTR. You tend to see a lot of these types of fenders on NSX's in Japan and never really thought that they would suit the body of a GTO. But if someone made fenders that were a little similar to the Z-tune, I think it would look great.
So what do you guys think??

To me, it looks like an afterthought. You want aesthetic mods to almost look like they came factory on the car.

So you like the subtleties of the z-tune.I agree it's better than the GTO pic.Too garish, weird flare and return on the fender.
The Z-Tune is squared for a boxier car.Hmmmm? I personally would want the flare to come out slightly further and drop to the bottom of the fender. But that would incorporate a new side skirt and everything.
Interesting! Its definatly something to think about.
yeah, something subtle like the Z-tune. The GTO pic looks a bit too much.

Or even the front fender on this NSX

i'd take the mirrors, the wheels and the intake plenum off that GTO before i'd take the fenders.
*edit*
i think i know what it is. our front fenders don't need to be vented, they just need to be wider and/or slightly flared.

I've always loved the zesty GTO fenders...The picture of the red GTO above also has zesty manufactured fenders..but I like this design better..
I wonder if they are even able to be purchased..

I think it looks good on the skyline because of the angles of the body lines. I think it would look bad with the curves of our body lines.

Ok i agree, the square nature of the Skyline lends itself to that look. But what if it we're round.Matching our body lines.Especially for a widebody kit.Not too far away from the side, kinda like the NSX?

i've seen good front fenders. the guy in europe with the black stealth who rolled his fenders...now THAT'S a good look up front. it flows well with the stock curves. pointless "vents" on the front are just that, pointless.
I've seen them on Supras as well, but I guess I am yet to see some good ones on GTO's. I still reckon PitRoad M still have the best fenders for GTO's, imo.
