Best option please. Don't want to use an AEM, I don't want something not that complicated.

Maft + afc

safc on a budget
emanage blue if you want the extra timing control (not necessary ray is probably going to run 10s with the maft safc combo)

If you really want to have fun, get Emanage Ultimate wiring the harness as stage 2.5 and run speed density. Talk about instant spool on ANY TD04. They are getting cheap now, but there is no W7 or Vista drivers only XP. It is pretty easy to use, and I know nothing about tuning cars. Well, knew nothing about tuning cars when I got my EMU. They are a GREAT alternative to AEM.

With speed density, there is no MAF, therefore no intake restrictions. EMU can act as timing and fuel controller along with EBC, 2-step for pre-launch boosting, and many other features such as logging and other sorts.

You can also get a Boomslang PnP harness, and modify it to stage 2.5 from stage 3. Some how, I managed to get a stage 2.5 when I ordered mine.

What do you all think of the MAF Translator Pro?

Not the cheapest, but the ARC2 is stupid simple to use. Leaves you stuck with factory timing, but you can find ways around that too. I had no experience tuning cars until I used the ARC2 this year and I was able to tune our car myself.

FWIW....

I third the ARC2, I had one on my 15g VR4 and loved how simple it was to get a tune. I have since switched to Maftpro Speed Density, but I haven't come close to understanding how to tune with it yet. I miss my ARC2

Just go Arc2+SITC combo!! Bam!

I am using EMB+MafT combo and I am loving it so far.

I used to have SAFC and that is really easy to use.

arc-2, tune it in 10 min, drives like stock, set it and forget it.

I run it on my street cars, and run it on my 8 second car.

Arc2 is as simple as it gets.

Matt, Whats the difference between your guy's arc-2 vs. the GT-pro one that is on 3sx?

The calibration, and you get the tech support from somebody that actually knows how to tune one. ME:)

Also, wasn't someone selling the wrong version ARC2 for the 3S for awhile? Can't remember who it was but I know there are 2 versions, one made specifically for use on the 3s, and another version that would somewhat "work", but always had funny issues. I believe I got one of the incorrect ARC2's for my car, I could never manage to get it tuned perfectly, it would run fine sometimes, and other times barely be driveable. I'd like to go back and try another one, the Maftpro is a little too technical for my abilities to tune alone

IIRC 3sx was selling the Arc2 K version for a while which is designed for DSM's. They now sell the Arc2 GP.

I have a SAFC 2 for sale cheap. PM me for info. I ran 123mph on pure pump gas and safc with those mods. An safc 2 is not the best choice like aem but is is cheap, simple and able.
