yes, that's my car. i didn't even realize it was being used without my permission to hawk products on a site i didn't know existed--which are from an entirely different company than the one i purchased my hood from.

lollerskates!

Haha, looks like you've a pretty good case on your hands there, any Ideas of what you're going to do about it?

why bother cleaning it when there's nothing to show off under there? ;) that was a pic i took when i first got her back from the tt-swap. 3sx didn't clean her up afterwards, and i didn't feel like doing it either.

i'll attribute most of that to having the wrong tension hood shocks installed for a while. going with a hood prop would probably have prevented any "bowing" of the hood, giving it the appearance of larger gaps than actually exist.

which is why it's all the funnier that they would use these pics. :D

Where did you post those pictures?

IPD

the old website. one's still in my album on there:

http://www.3si.org/gallery/data/500/PICT0397.JPG

i'll have to dig more to find where i put the others, but i think it was an attachment on there as well. i like how some of those pics are clearly NOT 3/s hoods....

*EDIT*

found it. it was an attachment:

http://www.3si.org/forum/attachments/f1/66717d1185278285-gt300-hood-pict0072.jpg

this particular pic is circa 2007. at least...that's the date i made it an attachment...

p.s.

my engine bay has gotten a little better. i've also added chrome caps & some coilovers since this pic was taken:

Someone had to dig hard to find them and how did you find out about this?

searching for alternatives to the cianci pureform wing. i at least need the pillars off one so that i can finish the exterior mods to my car before it gets painted next summer.

Demand a free hood, give them my shipping address! You lose nothing, they pay for ripping you off, and I get a free hood! :)

i actually put a review on the old site when i first installed it. the gaps are pretty even all around; front and sides. high-tension hood shocks probably f'd it up more than anything. the venting is probably some of the best on any 3/s specific hood. it won't accommodate a front strut-bar easily, but that's a small price to pay. the fact that it has mounts for the shocks, it's all pre-drilled for washer nozzles, and it includes both latches (regular and safety catch) is pure win. the fact that it has lasted for years of daily use and abuse, highway miles, even a trip to the dragstrip--all without hood pins, says that it's well built.

my ONLY complaint is that the vents are ever-so-slightly off center. you have to be looking hard at it to notice though.

That sounds like an exceptional hood then. I would probably just get the cheaper OEM style in CF so there wouldn't any vents to worry about.

vents are a wonderful thing our "surface of the sun" engine bays.
