I'm just looking for some feedback on Maximal to see how we're doing. Thinking about making some changes and I figured you guys would be the best ones to direct those. Instead of spamming you guys or giving you an annoying pop-up when on the site I'm just going to post it here. Only a few questions and I would appreciate it if you took some time to fill it out. Doesn't matter if you've ordered from us in the past or not before...fill it out anyways.

Feel free to post any thoughts here too. The form in anonymous so if you're looking for some feedback to your feedback posting here to e-mailing me would be best.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Despite getting less traffic than that other place I've gotten about 4 times the responses from here compared to it. I think that says a lot about this site.
To be completely honest with you guys my original plan before doing this was to focus on a few aftermarket parts that I could be cost competitive with along with the Maximal stuff. However the majority of you on here want more aftermarket parts so I guess it's time to start haggling suppliers for better prices and trying to get more lines. On the stuff I can't be the cheapest with I guess I'll just have to make it up to you guys with better service.

I don't know how your going to do better with the service unless you start delivering stuff to our doors personally...:)

I'm in for personal deliveries! :P It would be awesome to see more kits and products that you make in house but I'm not sure how far your skills stretch. I know you are great with metal work (love the solids and tcase bracket) but where are you in line with rebuilds, engine/transmission work and the deeply technical stuff? I would love to have more options for where I can send my transmission to get worked on when this pos Kormex stops cutting it for me.

We have the skills and probably tools to offer that but our space is limited. On top of that it's time consuming and with offering warranties to stay competitive it must takes one mistake to set you back on your profits. Some things may be changing (out of my control) that may free up some time for services like these along with normal maintenance/modifications service and more time to work on new custom products.

I left mine anonymous but one of the major issues when I do look to buy a 3S related part is selection. I always look at your site and usually you don't happen to to have what I am looking for so I am forced to go somewhere else.

That's one thing that will be changing. I'll be adding several more products to the site and am already in the process of securing a few more product lines. I can get a ton more that's on my site at the moment, it's just a matter of listing them. So if you ever need anything that's not on my site a PM or e-mail might be a good idea just to see if I can get it. I know it's an extra step but if I get interest for a product from 5 people it'll be on the site for sure.
Also, someone submitted a survey talking about international shipping (they were from Canada). If you wouldn't mind sending me a PM with some info on the best way to ship internationally (from you perspective) I'm all ears on changing what I offer.

I'm not a business guru or anything, but if I were you, I would list what's available to you and how much you can sell it for. As many 3S products as you can. I too, have looked through your site many times and not found what I needed. Didn't think for one second to email you about it. I just checked 3sx, IPS, eBay, or wherever and found what I needed there. If I had seen it on your site...well you get the idea. Just trying to give you the mindset I'm sure a lot of your potential customers have.
(my submission also mentioned selection)

Completely agree with you. It's stupid to think that someone is going to e-mail me every time they don't see something they're looking for on the site. It's very time consuming to to add products and automated systems are pricey. I just need to put the time into getting those new products on there and that for sure is on my list of things to get done.

Is your website custom built or are you using some type of shopping cart software?
I know the shopping cart software I use makes it really easy to add new products and track all of your inventory, shipping and outstanding orders. PM me sometime if you want more info as I deal with this type of software for a living.

It's based from shopping cart software so there's a decent interface to add products, nothing automated though. In an extreme example when you have 100+ autometer gauges to add it takes some time, especially when looking up descriptions and photos. No real excuse though, I just need to put more time into that part. If you have any way to make that better though I'm up for it....let me know.

When we have to mass add things to a shopping cart we usually do it directly though the database. We compile everything into an excel spreadsheet, Concatenate the results to build a giant SQL query and run it on the DB. But again getting all the information together is what takes the longest part

Yeah, they've got a bulk import tool right in the software but like you said, it's pulling all that info together.

Beat up on my suppliers some and was able to secure some pretty good discounts that should put me in a better place to be competitive with everyone else out there. Also picked up a few new lines that I didn't have before.
Keep checking the site as the products and prices are going to be changing daily until I get everything updated/added.

Terry, it's too bad you couldn't pick up the mark where IPS dropped the ball on their badass exhaust systems... what a demand for a product no one can get.

a 3" single shot exhaust has been on my list for a long time but I just need a car to mock it up on. I'd love to go bigger but unfortunately the shop that bends my exhaust tubing can't go bigger than 3". With that said I have been looking around for places that will.

Sounds like you need to find a junker to be used for mock-ups and test fits. One of the reasons I think I am going to hold on to my parts car frame. Just so I can use it for test fittings things and new fab ideas...:)
Responded - ditto on the exhaust stuff.

Send me an exhaust and I'll send you my 3" single for a prototype. ICH isn't around anymore I don't think Steve will mind. :D

Actually all I really need is the angle of the bend in the pipe. I'm almost thinking that the NA single shot I make is the same minus maybe some hanger locations. If you get bored one day and want to swap one of those NA exhausts you bought onto your VR-4 that'd be a good test. :)
