Hey, Alan.

The dark background was really hard on the eyes, and the light background is better.

But I still think there are some issues in the format.

a) Can we make the font a little bigger.
b) I still frequent 3si, because I like the format. It's easy to follow and read. Any way to make it somewhat like 3si? One of the reason I don't browse 3sgto as much is it's too hard to get used to.

Thanks,
TP

The font sizes should be about the same as most other forums.

The light is no perfect and I will work on it after I upgrade to VB 4.0.8.

I don't want to make it look too much like another site as I want this site to have its own personality. IF you can list specific issues I can look into them.

Agreed. Easier on the eyes also ;).

Could also turn your brightness up ;)

Hey Alan, could you change the link in the upper right hand corner that says Settings to UserCP since thats where it takes you :). Thanks.

Yeah, I do try the "CTRL" plus "+" trick, but I don't like doing that all the time.

What's hard to get used to is all that emptiness in the main page. There's so much space because the text is too small.

For example, go to the "NEW POSTS" and check the new threads. The size of title of the thread is about the same size of thread starter, only the title is in bold. I think the title should be made bigger. Maybe size 12 title and size 10 name of poster? Then look under the title. The gap/space between the title and poster is huge. It makes it look empty.

I agree the site shouldn't look completely the same.

The text size on this size is smaller than 3si, and similar to other sites. Now that I switched to the light background, it's a lot better to view.

Scotty, I can't. I have chinky Asian eyes..they don't open any more...haha.

Of course the brightness is all the way up.

I also agree that the "Settings" should be changed to "User CP".

You are nuts if you think the text is too small. Its no smaller than any other forum I have ever browsed on.

I dont know how anyone can view this in light mode. I tried it for all of 3 seconds and it is way too bright. Dark rules.

Also you complain "its hard to get used to", well how else are you supposed to get used to it other than USING it? ;) This site is no harder to use than any other. Its got some differences compared to 3si, but 3si is different than other sites I post(ed) on. You can't expect everything to be exactly how you want it.

I guess I am nuts than and I guess you're just normal:-p

I do use 3sgto now that I figured there's a light setting..haha.

I don't expect this site to be how I want it. It's a relatively new site. It could always be made better and suggestions are always welcomed and I made some.

I think the one area that can use some work are the main pages, and not within the threads.

Ahh. Yes I would like it if the title and OP were different sizes :D

I guess I shouldn't have said it's hard to get used to..it isn't (anymore).

I just think the text fonts could be better. The space/emptiness can be better managed.

I was going to start a new thread but I saw this one. The main problem I seem to have is the font size difference between the thread title and the line underneath (when and who created). I think it would be much easier to read if the font sizes were different. Other sites don't usually have this info right under the thread title line, just user name and I think (hard to tell for sure) but the sizes are also different. The thread info part is secondary information and shouldn't be as large as it is.

Looks like it's set for 13px/12px, Other forums that seem easier to read no matter what color the foreground or background is 13/11 or 13/10. I don't think the 13/12 is a large enough split.

an image to make my point....It gets worse when the thread has already been read.

started by sizes are :
09 | 10
10 | 12

all others untouched.

That I can work with.

Once I get done fixing the templates for the next VB version I'll see what I can do.

Good--I wasn't the one that felt that way.

And does the thread starter have to be in bold?
