Leak Test Dye for Oil

I have an oil leak and can't tell if it's specifically coming from an axle seal or rear seal. Both seals were just changed when I had the clutch done. Engine and tranny both have Redline oil which look similar. Think I'll try some dye in the engine since it's due for an oil change and I can do that shortly after the testing. Has anyone used the Tracerline "All in One" TP 3400-0601 UV dye for finding oil leaks? Any bad after effects? Thanks for any replies.

It doesn't affect anything that I know of. I've used that exact product before, and no issues.

It's fine to use Bob. The amount that you use is very little so there's no effect to the viscosity and it doesn't interfere with any additive's functions. The only thing about it is that the dye is most easily cleaned off with their specific dye cleaner. Brakleen doesn't work too well. Dawn dish soap works OK, but the dye isn't really obvious (it's an orangish brown) till you hit it with blue or UV light.

Wanted to post a follow-up on this. Used the Tracerline "All in One" TP 3400 Dye in my engine. This particular All-In-One is compatible with synthetic oils including ester based, which is good info to know. It worked like a charm! I changed my oil the following day since it was due anyway. However, the dye traces stay around for quite some time but not noticeable unless you hit it with a UV light. Thanks again guys for your input. :)
