For those of us who have a 3s and realized that a street bike was an awesome DD choice while the 3s was down.

Current list of bikes owned:
1992 750 Katana (learned on it)
2004 1000 Gsxr MM Edition (sold to keep ex)
1995 937 RF900 (have it, rebuilding)
1999 900 ZX-9 (have it, DD)

I miss my MME gixxer sooo much though. Best bike i've had over all.

I wouldn't say a bike is a great DD choice... Mine certainly isn't for me. You get tired of being rained on, and sitting in traffic in ultra hot weather sweating your ass off. I did almost 2 years in college with just a bike, and grew to hate it.

As far as fun little weekend toys, sure, bikes are awesome. Mine is a 2006 Ninja ZX6R 636, the last year of the "cheater" engine. ;)

I've got a 2006 kawasaki ninja zx-6r 636. (like ^^^^ that guy). Its my ace in the hole for when my stealth is down. Now I'm selling it to fix my stealth for the last time. Our bearings suck

I first had multiple dirtbikes....
Then I got an 02 F4i, Damn I loved that bike!! I rode it any chance I got.
Then I got an 02 Drz400s...Wheelies all day baby. That was a blast to ride and makes me want a supermoto so bad
Now I got a 97 880cc motor on a 600 frame Yamaha...Paid $400 bucks for it :D. Runs and drives. Im going to give it some TLC and hopefully trade for a SM in spring :D.

I just sold my 02 Ducati 750 SS, the bike was a blast although a bit on the slow side. I'm contemplating a Superhawk 996 next though if sales go well this fall/winter/spring I'll be picking up another Ducati, I love the 1098S.

I've never been a fan of Ducati. As far as the Italians go I like Aprilla more. I like the new BMW...minus that whole wink thing going on with the head lights...that really ruins the bike for me.

well, i got my 3s 2 yrs ago as a basket case, 2011 looks like the year when it will see the streets again.

I bought the 05 Dyna new, did a 1550 kit to it with ported heads and cams, still gets over 40 mph. I dont think ill get much love here over it, but its my second one and i dont feel comfortable on anything else, so it is what it is...

I bet shes fast....I do not like harleys for the reason they are so DAMN expensive to fix, and they seem to break more than our 3s's. :)

there not cheap for sure, but i have to admit, my bike has only been in the shop once since 2004 when i bought her. and it was fixed under warranty for a problem i believe i created! (trans leak due to over filling gearbox). And its never left my by the side of the road.

It wont do 130 mph, but it dose have 115 lbs of torque at the tire at 2300 rpm and holds that to almost 5k rpms. It stretches my arms fairly well!

My friend Phil lives in TX, he has a 900 lb bagger with a trunk and side bags, he has a 124 ci engine, and it has 150 lbs of torque and 140 HP, it dose wheelies in 3rd gear! hes surprised a few sport bikes hear and there.

My goal is to get a torque curve like that on my VR4.

It depends on the size and style of the bike honestly. I enjoy them as a DD. Quick and efficent and easy to park. =]

well i had a few yz 250's for my first bikes then i picked up a 2000 katana 600. after a few months of having that i needed something faster and then i grabbed an 02 r1. i love the r1. soon i hope to get a newer one

God I wish I had one haha. Only place ive seen them is random specialty classified websites, like vintage, bike, or vintage bike classifieds. The first picture I posted is actually currently for sale in Maine for like 13 grand.

Alot were 500cc but they range from like 348 to 500. When you bought it (new) it came with a dyno print out of the exact bike you received.

Make sure it`s had the belts done on time (I`d change them every 10,000 miles to be safe..), not a bad job to do 2 hours if you take your time (nothing like as bad as our cars!).

I wanted a Daytona 675 when i got back from Korea, but they were jews about selling an unsold '08 for 11000 and wouldn't budge, so I got the Raven for 7500. There was an '11 Daytona SE like on page 1 for sale for 11500, and they didn't understand the rationale that there SHOULDN"T BE only a 500 dollar difference between a '08 base model and a '11 Special Edition. Their loss.

The only thing i'd trade in my R1 for would probably be a Daytona 675SE or a BMW S1000RR. Those things blow away all the competition.

I'm only 160 lbs, 5'8" so the R1 is more than I need, but I feared that if I got an R6 I'd be antsy to upgrade eventually.
