Thinking about getting back into the money pit

So, if your VR4 had been temporarily forgotten and you haven't started her up in uhm... let's see... 7 years? What would you do? I mean in terms of what steps would you take to check and do before trying to start her up? :torn:

I mean in terms of what steps would you take to check and do before trying to start her up? :torn:Replace every single fluid in the car, new fuel pump, new injectors or have yours tested and cleaned they're probably stuck shut, and minimum 60k service but 120k service would be ideal.

Anyone have any numbers handy how much fluids, injectors and 60k goes for these days? I've been out of the game for that same amount of time :unconscious:

Fluids and 60k tune seem reasonable. I'd add in fuel filter.

Cleaning the injectors can't hurt but I can't see it as mandatory. If the car does not start then look at cleaning.

If the fuel pump works I can't see a reason to replace it.

Do you know how much a 60k is going for in parts?

It depends on if you want to do the oil puno while you're at it. Don't cheap out on the kit though. A cheap water pump could end up costing you you're whole engine.

Also if you decide not to do the oil pump at least change the front main seal while it's apart. It probably wouldn't hurt to do the cam seals too. If you don't do them and they end up being leaky you'll be tearing it right back down to where you just were.

Yeah, I remember I used to do the mitsu kit instead of those other brands, can you still get them or now do you have to go with 3rd parties? For the oil pump I guess I could do the main seal and try it out, I do have aftermarket gauges so I can check the pressure

Like inspect fuel tank, clean it out? What sorta things should I perform before starting it for the first time apart from the parts
