Check the voltage drop in the connections on the starter, the alternator and the battery. Yes, check them again.

check your ground wires and connection points.

Check the voltage at the starter posts.

If you never touched the connections, they may be dirty. Do itttt :p

do i check while running? the connections are perfect looking. i just built this engine combo months ago. only has 1400 miles since new srtroker and turbos added.

Both on and off, and also while cranking. The voltage shouldn't drop a lot. It sounds like a charging issue (bad connection or bad alt.) because the voltage is so low while driving.

check your fuses too. they might not look blown so check them.

and run a dedicated ground on the alternator itself and replace all the other grounds on the engine.
i bet its a ground issue.

i guess in my mind i didnt realize there was a fuse for the alt. my mind must have thought since it starts & runs, if there was a fuse, its still must be functioning, but oh well. glad to be driving again! thx for the replys as per usual!

If you can, check at the battery and the alternator stud. Both while stopped and when running.
It's easier measuring on both sides of the alternator fuse but that leaves the harness between the alternator and the fuse in question.

While it very possible a new alternator is bad, it's more likely the alternator fuse is blown or the alternator isn't getting the energizing voltage to the L terminal to start with.

I must have missed the second page. Glad you found the problem.

both(battery post and ecu) at a nice matching 14.1v at idle.
