So after I got done with my most recent duty station change(came home to PA to be a recruiter) I was having a discussion with one of my cousins and he asked if I wanted a new weekend hobby as he needed someone young to help out and join his team, I went to see what he was talking about and well I'll let some of these pictures tell the story.

So The last car pictured runs a Donn Ott 410, all the other cars run a 360. The black car is my cousins original car that he has raced since before I even joined the navy(15 yrs ago) All the other cars are owner cars that he races for them. Tentatively scheduled for a practice session this up coming Saturday with first race April 8th. I will see about mounting my Go-Pro altho there are already some videos on You-Tube of him. Also on Facebook under Horst Motorsports there are in car video's.

Not much to report from last night. My cousin is out of state for adoption purpose and we just prepped car. I mounted 4 new tires and then had to balance every tire in prep for the season. There is a rumored practice session Wednesday so we'll see what happens off that.

Tonight was major success, came looking to get good data and be ready for Saturday's season opener. Ended up breaking the track record,. Twice.

After 2 heats caught the pole for the finale.

He started and never lost the pole 3rd lap he had a half track lead until some cautions. In the end though he maintained his position and came home with the checked flag.

Some more pictures uploaded from photographers and the track, was an interesting race.

When the green came down it looked like he had an issue and bunched the group up the car behind him bumped him and then he tore off(calculated move, as that driver immediately nailed the brakes).

One of the guys places a go pro in the car so when videos are compiled I'll get a link posted.

Tonight was race night again. Did well in the heats and was fast in the 2nd heat. But the good idea fairy wanted to make changes before the feature race and we just didn't have it in the car. Started 3rd for the feature and finished 3rd.

So the car is performing and Jason is driving his ass off. He has been battling an issue for a few seasons with his engine stuttering at acceleration. When everything​works the car will just simply pull away from everyone.

As they stated you win some,lose alot but being consistent is going to be the biggest goal. There is a points program so staying in the top 3 for every race will ensure good placing towards the end of the season.

Thursday will be maintenance and prep with next race on Saturday

Last night was a pretty busy night, multiple classes and different events.

During time trials we had the 2nd fastest time posted however that was the most success we would find as during the feature race we started 14th and immediately started dropping places. Over 6 cars got into each other with 1 flipping a few times which let us finish were we started (driver was checked out and just banged up)

This week we are off(I believe they are taking the 410car to another track Friday) but I won't be back to the area in time if they do go.

Some changes were made to car before race, new shocks installed which could have been issue, couldn't get good sized tires(kept getting a 103 right rear and 93 left their target stagger difference would be 12 inches).

My apologies for no updates. Last week I was out of town and they went to Lernerville Speedway with the 410, Ended up 2nd after what was said to be a great back and forth battle for lead with us having the lead at 2 laps to go when a caution came out and put previous leader back in the lead.

Well we raced, during warm ups we turned out 3rd quickest time on site however things just didn't wanna go right the rest of the night.

Started 3rd in heat race but fell to 5th which put us starting 14th in the feature. We held that for a few laps maybe even pushed up to 12th but in the end car just wasn't good enough and ended up 14th.

I have not forgotten nor did I quit/get fired haha. I took a break but to cliff note: last Saturday Jason finished in 8th,. Saturday night he started 14th and finished 4th. Currently sitting 2nd in points but that was prior to Memorial Day races so he might be leading now. I will be back this weekend

Alright just got home so time for an update, won't bore you with heat info and such. Started 15th and after a pretty bad incident which cars are pictured below Jason was able to Nick away during the 30 lap race to get up to 5th place.

2 cars were involved in the wreck, they fixed one and got him back out but realized something else was broke. Not even 2 laps later another caution came out when the #2 running car shredded a rear right tire and ended their night.

At some point of the night things got busy and not sure who but someone left the fuel sounding rod on the back of the car, and they went out for the B-main and well it fell off onto the track. The push truck driver came and just simply said hey your fuel Sounder is laying on the track.....

We broke a rear brake rotor, blew a tire on 410 car and possibly damaged the engine but been busy putting in work with the 360...

Been a little while, not too much racing has happened. We raced the following week after this however I was not there and Jason hit another car on the 4th lap.

Tonight was the next race as last week rained out again. Went out for hot laps and front brake line ruptured and he lost all brakes but hauled ass anyway, during the heat race he got caught up with a stalled car and broke the front wing at the start but still managed to qualify for a spot.

For feature we started 22nd and finished 9th.

Last night was a busy,busy night.
Heat race we started dead last of heat 3, just didn't do anything. Got lucky and there was no B-main so we went straight into the feature.

To which we started 18th, and it immediately straight out of the gate was a exciting race, coming across the flag stand on green a car went end over end after it was hit from behind and then hit from another car. So we immediately had a caution.

Restart we shot up from then 16th(due to 2 cars in front of us being involved) to around 11th to which another caution came out. Jason immediately put in work and got up to 6th in less than 10 laps complete. However coming around corner he hit a cushion on the track and lost a bunch of spots... Had we not been saved by a caution which gave him his 6th place spot back.

At the restart the current points leader Davie Franek made a move to get himself under and at our left rear tire however Jason went 3 wide into the next corner going from 6th to 4th.

At which point we cut the Gap and knocked down 3rd and was looking at 2nd or possibly a win. We caught and started to battle for 2nd but 25 laps came quick and we will settle for 3rd after starting 18th.

Sorry for delay, Saturday was a rain out. We were looking forward to getting some time in as we currently are 2nd in the point race and with that race have 2 races to try and make that up.

Hopefully with this last points race we can make something work out in our favor otherwise have to settle for a 2nd place points standings for the season.

After this race might start doing a few traveling races as Selinsgrove raceway will close down for the winter and will need to find some other tracks that are still running.
