People are now doing it because of the click bait shit. There was one guy semi-local to me who was just arrested for wearing a clown mask and chasing some kids with a ball bat. I heard another story of a clown getting shot in the head.

The people doing this are about as dumb as the idiots that dress as terrorists and throw fake bombs at people. Not surprised at all they're getting shot. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
