So I haven't poked around too much on here as of late. I've been really busy lately with moving an apartment and getting ready for a wedding, buying a new vehicle, etc.

So a few of you know that I was dating a gal for a little while now. We met in November, we hit it off and we got really serious in January and we started moving stuff out of her apartment in January. We started planning the wedding before we got engaged around March, got engaged in April and paid off her apartment in May and moved her apartment furniture and bigger stuff two weeks before the wedding. We actually had the apartment walk through done 3 days before we left for Texas! It was a very busy time for us.

We drove down to South Padre Island, TX for our wedding. We put the first 5,000 miles on the new truck and it goes in for it's first service appointment next week. We are very happy that all of the wedding planning and pre-wedding purchases have ended and now we can shift our focus on our home and getting it more homely. This summer will be a busy summer as we have a lot of plans for the home.

I know what you all want to hear about: the truck. The story goes like this: I had the BMW serviced for the intake cleaning a few months back and noticed very improved throttle response and very improved idle. We were driving it shortly after that for a few weeks and started hearing a new noise. I suspected it was engine or transmission related, but it never threw a code. We kept driving it and the noise would get worse and worse. From my research, the turbo wastegates were the source of the noise and a tune of 3200 to replace turbos and wastegates plus the car needed brakes and a new windshield, I wasn't convinced to keep the car anymore. The fiance finally told me, let's go look at a new truck, I don't feel comfortable with that noise and I don't feel like getting stranded half way to Texas because the car fails. So, we went to the Ford dealership local to me and looked at their trucks they had. We set a budget for the payments and the fiance and I decided to get the most feature rich truck we could afford, so we picked up a 2015 F-150 Platinum in Pearl White with the 3.5 V6 Ecoboost. It was a wash when we factored in the trade-in, the dealership markdown on the truck, and the amount delinquent on the loan with the car, so we rolled with it.

What an amazing truck! We couldn't be happier with the truck. We don't have to do anything for 3 years/36,000 miles for any issue, we don't need to worry about powertrain for 100,000 miles! The dealership has been very helpful and they take care of me like I'm a king. We decided on the F-150 instead of a Super Duty with the Diesel because we really thought about how much we will really be towing if we do any sort of towing and we decided that we probably won't be pulling much. The truck has a trailer brake if we pull anything really large. The Ecoboost is very powerful and has a lot of torque down low. The truck afforded us 20MPGs to Texas and back, so no complaints there. The engine can take 87 octane, which to me is unprecedented as most turbo engines require 93 octane. The turbos don't spool too much, they are a little bigger than 9bs, but I can tell they don't flow much more than 7 psi.

The wedding was a lot of fun! It was a long drive down there, we took our time driving down there and stopped at a few hotels along the way and just tried to enjoy ourselves along the way. Her family is a lot of fun and pretty soon, I will be fluent in Spanish. We got married in Port Isabel in an intimate, but fun restaurant on the water and fireworks at the end to top it off. My mother bought us a condo on South Padre Island for the week and we stayed down there a little longer at my new sister-in-law's home for a few nights. The drive back was pretty intense, we were trying to leave on Tuesday but ended up driving all around town to all of the relatives getting gifts that they had given us and eating before the trip. We drove as far as we could the first night for 4 hours and got to Austin, TX. We stayed at a hotel in Austin and the first room had cockroaches and we got moved to another room and that room was better. We left Austin around 8AM and drove all the way home and got home at 7AM on Thursday. Total gas spent on the entire trip was about 600 which is really good considering it's a truck.

I came home to very long grass and so I worked on cutting the grass the last two days and the yard is considerably nicer looking now. I need to put down some weed and feed and grub killer and get the pond ready today. I need to get some work done inside the house as well. For now, I need to get busy with the honey-do list and then I hope I can convince the wife to let me buy some stuff for the motorcycle and get that project wrapped up.

That's about it!

Congrats on getting rid of the Big Money Waster. Huge fan of what Ford has done with ecoboost. Besides, I couldn't bring myself to buy a Silverado/sierra--after what GM did to Isuzu. Now if GM came to its senses and brought the DMAX Fury over here, then I might change my tune. I digress.

So you're without a 3/s? That must feel quite liberating. I'm almost willing to just pay $800/year for the rest of my life so I never have to go back and address that I still own one.

Believe it or not, I still have the 3/S, just haven't touched it in a long while. The BMW was my DD before. The F-150 with the EcoBoost is truly an amazing vehicle. It has the SelectShift 6 speed transmission and just has so much power and torque for a truck. It just feels good driving a vehicle that has more legroom in it and allows me to haul stuff and tow stuff and get great gas mileage doing it.

Moved up a long way from that old F150 you used to have. Remember my old white Stealth... It's got a SOHC in it now lol.

Yea the old F-150 I sold two years ago. The lady that bought it still drives it today.
