Tire slime

So I took my new front tires to get put on and the shop messed up and knicked the beads. They denied it of course and though they still hold air they lose down to 10psi in about a week.

I dont feel like being out 600 dollars so I was considering tire slime.
1 has anyone used this before and how did it go on slow leaks and
2 is it like that fix a flat where tire shops get pissed at you for using it?

also is it safe? I drive my car maybe 500 miles a year and never in traffic or anything

Slime won`t work on the beads, by it`s nature it gets flinged round the inside of the tyre away from the centre of the wheel/ bead.

You can get bead sealant but you`d have to break the beads apply it then re-seat the tyre. I`ve personally never used bead sealant but it`s your only option by the look of it..

I would be persistent on getting the shop to replace the tires. Not knowing where you are from, each state has an attorney general. I have had numerous successes with problems with retail businesses by contacting my state's attorney general's office.

Stick to your guns, dot don't fly off the handle.

Really? I have never had a problem with my tire pressure with my chrome rims, including my Stealth chromies. Must be lucky.

Tire slime is garbage, I can tell you from personal experiance that it won't work. I would focus on getting the shop to replace the tires.

You do know its a mixture of PVA and other things to make it look pretty. :P Buy PVA and do it cheaply if it works great if not it can be removed from the tyres when taken off.

thank you for the advice guys. definitely not the rims. my rears are the most air tight i have ever experienced. or maybe the guy that did them is some sort of tire god haha.
i hate these quick fixes but with the cost of removing and mounting low profile tires if you have to do it 3 times you might as well buy a new tire.

as for the shop they were basically like "prove it"
truth is i can't. i know myself i checked them (was burned before on some falkens i had shipped) so I'm very thorough when inspecting tires now

DO NOT USE SLIME. I have done it before as a cheap fix. It worked, however it caused MAJOR balance issues.
