So I will try to explain my situation..I have a 95 stealth rt (non turbo) and when the car starts and idles fine, but when I am in motion and switch to neutral (while in motion) to down shift...if I do not switch to a gear immidiately OR stay in neutral to use the brake to slow down the engine cuts off and fyi it just started doing it today so any assistance would be appreciated.

Update starting to think its the fuel filter because as long as I keep the gas on the gas pedal the engine will run fine but the moment I I let off to shift or slow down then the engine shuts off like it has no gas goong through the filter while the engine is dying and I hit the gas pedl the engine jumps back to life so I am now thinking its a bad fuel filter, my only question is why does it start up or even idles ok if its a fuel filter??? I am learning about cars so don't bash me about not knowing...Thanks

I have the same problem. Or the issue comes and goes. For the last week it hasn't happened. But sometimes it does. Think it could be the IAC aka idle air controller going bad. Going to replace it and see if it helps.

You can test the IAC with an ohm meter before you replace it to be sure.

stealth316 has the total write up but the short of it is there are 6 pins

123
456

Test resistance acros 1-2, 2-3, 4-5, and 5-6. If it is an older brown top IAC resistance should be around 30ish range. If it is a newer black top one it is going to be higher, but I can't quite remember the number.

Essentially you are looking for the numbers to be close. If you get an open then the IAC is bad.

Right forgot about that. Tested a spare used one I have here , It's 29 across all so should be good enough. If mine in the car is bad I'll just swap that in then.

here it is anyways http://www.stealth316.com/2-isc-iac.htm
