After a years of putting it off, I am finally trying to get my A/C working again. I took the car to a shop and they confirmed that it holding vacuum, but the A/C motor clutch keeps kicking on and off. With some more testing they determined the issue was with the compressor. Not being super savvy with A/C tech I ran with that.

I ordered a new compressor and installed it, but I still get the same issue with the clutch engaging for about a minute then disengaging. Once it disengages I then getting the little red light on the digital climate control. So, I started working back from that. I replaced the little computer under the dash on the passenger side dash with two other ones. I checked all the fuses and then checked again. However, I am still getting A/C for about a minute then it cuts off and I am at a lose on what else it could be. Any info would be appreciated.

I hate the red dot of doom.

Its holding vacuum, but is it full and up to pressure? It will kick off if its not.
Could be the pressure sensor

try jumping power at the relay and see if it stays on? If it does do not run it too long to be safe.

This looks promising and inspiring. Thanks

Yeah, easier to just cut the white wire on the control box. that stops the RPM signal from being fed to the computer. without that signal the A/C computer can't do the comparison and it won't kick the compressor off.

I'm more concerned that you got a new compressor and it is still doing the same thing. The RPM sensor is built into the compressor itself and if it was rebuilt then it should work. If you cut the white wire and it stays on, I'd guess that they didn't rebuild the compressor properly and I would go ask for a refund.

The white wire on the little computer under the passenger side dash?

Some compressors don't have the rpm sensor at all
