Parting out Pearl Yellow 94 vr4

This car was owned by a doctor who daily drove it for about 20 years and 240k miles. The car is pretty rusty and wouldn't pass inspection in VT. So I bought it to part out. I have a 2" stack of receipts showing that it was always serviced at Burlington Mitsubishi in VT. Mechanically the car is actually in better shape than I thought it would be. It starts, runs and drives fine, and actually shifts really well. I drove it 30 miles home.

If the spool is good in the t-case I'm interested, but dang that is a lot of miles. Any paperwork for recall work on the t-case? total shipped to 63701?

I'll take the wheels, will likely be up in VT to ski at least one more time this year. How far are you from Rutland? I'm also interested in rear bumper, AA spoiler, rear center garnish, sideskirts, and side mirrors if paint is good. Maybe hatch and doors too if I can fit them in my SUV.

Booomer30000 - Sorry I don't really want to ship this motor. I did ship a built longblock in the past but the buyer arranged shipping/pickup. I had to mount it to a pallet and wrap it up. That cost him about $450 in freight which would seem like overkill for a $600 engine.

That is one weird invoice for that motor rebuild.....

$3k I would assume would be for reman long block, but then they charged again for little items like bearings, Piston pins, oil pan...

Then they sent the block out for machining and such which you wouldn't do for a reman block unless they are just using the $3k as a set price for the main portion of the service.

But what I don't see listed are main items like water pump and oil pump and those should have been itemized out... I see timing belt and tensioner, but none of the other 120k service items.

$6.5k for a rebuilt motor... damn I got off cheap as dirt on my engine rebuild!! O.o

Yeah I have no idea on the details of the motor build. But it's lasted 76k miles and is still running. The guy is a doctor and the dealer probably knew that. I have some more receipts too. One of them is $2000 for an ABS pump and another $800 in labor to replace it. He drives a Tesla now.

This is the transmission job receipt. $4600 for a new oem transmission. It only has 52k miles on it now which is nice. Notice they also replaced the oil cooler and oil cooler lines at this time.

Bloodlust has dibs on front calipers if he wants them. Rear calipers are pending to a local guy (Ethan on the other forum, guy with compound turbo setup). He hasn't got back to me yet though but I'll give him another day or so. Disrupter has dibs on rear calipers if Ethan falls through.

Rear calipers gone too?

Rear Calipers have 2 people in line already. First guy is local and I'm going to give him one more day. Front calipers are sold and so was the transfercase. I plan on taking some of the interior apart tonight and pulling the wire harnesses. Then hopefully on Friday or Saturday morning I'll get it lowered down on the trailer to scrap.

If the LCD is good on it, I'll take the radio. I might be interested in the CD changer, too. I need to get the radio first so I can see if my changer is actually bad or not.

Edit: Does the power antenna work? I'd be interested in that, as well. And the more I think about it, I could use a drive side window regulator, too. My car is falling apart from lack of use. lol

Power antenna I am actually keeping if it works lol. I never tested the radio honestly. I realized it after I had the harness half way pulled. I think I have a cut radio plug though so I should be able to hook it up to a battery to test.



NationalMilkMan - Both people for the rear calipers never got back to me for some reason. If you want them for $100 shipped they are yours. I'll post some pics below.


As for the car, it is all stripped of anything I think is worthwhile to ship. I have it lowered on my trailer ready to scrap. I plan on scrapping it on Tuesday before work as Monday I want to get everything that has been sold shipped out. Also someone requested pics of the motor so I figured I'd post them here for everyone to see.

Looking for the engine harness ECU to PTU. An alternative is the 6 pin connector to the PTU with a pigtail. Looking at the engine, is it still in the body carcass?
