Apparently they all run but only seen one working video of the tinu merlin. never seen the others run.

i dont think the makers have completely figured out the whole way to get power out of these mini motors. although the engineering is amazing they do not have the power the single cylinder IC motors have. i know the mini merlin doesn't have the power aparently to pull a 1/5th scale spitfire off the floor even though it is supercharged.

I was just reading the site for the guy with the supercharged V8 yesterday. Let me dig it out of my history when I get home and post it up. :)

These things are amazing. Would love to have a kit to build, or a CNC in my garage to make my own.

I managed to score a CNC Vertical Knee Mill for a fab shop I ran once upon a time.
Shop hands were terrified of it as it had a keyboard and crt screen.
If I had a spare 25K ... and 240/3∅

Would be a cool hobby. Would take me years to make one from scratch, and thats with no guarantee of it running.

If I had a kit to assemble, I'd do it. I don't have the machining equipment. :(

i surpose it would be alot easier to make a 1/4 scale block now and all the parts to go with it, these new CNC machines are wicked. the motors barry hares made were done in the 70's before newfangled machinery.

You should see the Rapid Protyping Center at Milwaukee School of Engineering.....That Rapid Prototyping shit is SWEET.

The machining technology is amazing these days. I saw a show that was talking about this new thing. Jay Leno had it. You would place a part in it and it would scan it making a 3D model. It would then output a CNC code to have it replicated, or you could make a plasic copy of it. I imagine it would be easy to just add a scale to it.

Yup thats basically what Rapid Prototyping is :D. Its sooooo coool.
