Big day for Auburn so far. Stole one from Florida and Ohio State. If we can get Holland or Ivey this class will be SICK.
EDIT: just got Holland. This is a monster class and we're not just recruiting stars, we're filling a lot of needs.
U of M is on life support, but at least Brady Hoke is gone - step 1. :p

Our backup quarterback was actually a better quaterback than Marshall. We just didn't play him because Marshall was better at running the read option. Our offense is going to look a LOT different next year.

WVU getting what they expected, but not winning any of the battles for guys on the fringe. :/ Filling a lot of needs, though, and still a lot of day left.

Sonofabitch...looks like UGA stole Shaquery Wilson back. Apparently his Dad didn't want him to go to WV.
There needs to be an earlier signing day, or allow kids to sign when they commit. So much wasted time and money. I believe we're going to see the signing day rules and regs changed very soon.

I don't see that happening this year. We're getting our asses kicked in the WR department...which is just nuts when Dana Holgorsen is the coach. wtf... We ended up with a class in the 30's...not bad from being inthe 90's two weeks ago.
I also see the signing day rules changing soon now that poaching commits has become mainstream, although if that had not been possible this year we would have been royally screwed.

I was happy with how Riley did with Nebraska's class. Usually when you switch coaches the class suffers, but Riley managed to keep almost all the recruits that had committed to Bo and bring in a few new ones as well. The class ended up ranked about where it would have if Bo was still in charge, maybe even better lol.

Yeah that was a really shitty move on their part.
Thomas Wilcher his ex coach was working with Hairball trying to get Weber to flip. When he could not deliver of course he is making a big stink.
Coaches come and go, he didn't come to play for a rb coach did he? If so I suggest he head off to the NFL. He said he is going to OSU because its a team that wins, unlike Michigan.
He will have to learn coaches come and go in good organizations quite often. Its just one of the 20 coaches, yes the OC left also for more money. I don't know how much involvement the RB coach had since I wasn't there. Michigan fans are just being bitches about him picking the better team.
These same Michigan fans were calling him chicken since Hairball stole a 3 star running back from Iowa, a fact that Hairball HID from this kid while he had him in ann arbor trying desperately getting him to flip.
meanwhile Michigan hires the mother of a 1 year graduate transfer from Stanford? rofl... hmm I can see the ncaa raising its eyebrow to that one.
and the word is the RB coach was interviewed and hired in one day...

Strong impressed the hell out of me. He came in, jettisoned the ~6 guys Mack had committed (low hanging fruit that has since committed to far lesser programs like SMU, SFA, Rice, etc), weathered all the critics and Texas HS coaches turning on him because he's not Mack Brown, poached several top-300 guys out of Florida, very nearly took A&M's best recruits (legacy QB Kyler Murray, DT Daylon Mack), and turned a very mediocre class a couple months ago into a top-10 class (#1 in Big12). Technically, I think Strong got 7 top-300 guys on both offense and defense, but the defensive class is really impressive @ LB & DB. DT's will be desperately needed in 2016. The 4 guys Charlie got in the final week nearly matched what Mack did in ~16 seasons. Very happy with the class overall.
The QB situation kind of sucked. 7' tall Gentry (understandably) went with Harbaugh, but Texas was able to flip FSU's ~3rd QB recruit (Kai Locksley). He may be more of an athlete than a QB, but these are the sort of QB's Texas has on the roster (Swoopes, Heard, Locksley)... And I'm all for it to help the O-line & running game. Texas is allegedly changing from the west coast offense that was designed for David Ash (that Swoopes suffered through) to something closer to TX HS spread football. Fuck yeah.

He originally committed to UCLA on National Signing Day but had second thoughts after making the decision (He said he entered his signing ceremony torn between UCLA and Georgia). Smith then said he was going to wait to make his decision after UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich left to become the Atlanta Falcons linebackers coach.
Georgia coaches were the ones who texted Smith's coaches to tell them that Ulbrich was leaving UCLA. The strategy apparently worked, as the Georgia native is now staying close to home.

I was waiting for someone to post this without looking into the story themselves. I knew you wouldn't let me down, Echo.
About Auburn players harassing disabled vet : CFB (http://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/2wbwot/about_auburn_players_harassing_disabled_vet/)
I don't post often to CFB or to reddit at all that much. Let me also say that I love our country and have many veterans in my family. Our military and veterans deserve the highest respect for being willing to give their lives so that we have our freedom. Yes, I am an Auburn fan and a student of the university, however that does not mean I cannot tell an unbiased account of the events that happened yesterday.
Yesterday, I was sitting in the bottom floor of the Haley center waiting on my girlfriend to be finished with class. Those familiar with the Haley center know that there are people constantly walking in and out of the bottom floor and there are people constantly giving tours and such. I, being the people watcher that I am, enjoy sitting, watching, and listening to the people as they walk by.
I noticed a woman walk in with dog, something I didn't find particularly unusual. A few sorority girls (no I don't know which, I'm not skilled like that) walk over to the dog to try and pet him/her. The woman was very standoffish and told the girls to get away from her animal. The girls puzzled and confused (looking somewhat offended) walked away. A few moments later, more people passed by and tried to pet the dog, much to the owners disdain.
Then two football players (apparently Dontavious Russel and Andrew Williams) walked over to the dog. They were saying things like "Here puppy" and other phrases commonly used to call a dog. As they approached the dog, one squatted down to pet him/her. Upon seeing this, the woman absolutely flipped out. I guess it was just the straw that broke the camels back. I mean, after three isolated incidents of someone messing with something of mine that I didn't want to be messed with I would be pissed too. She screamed at the players, telling them to get away. The players walked away, and like anyone who just got yelled at seemed upset for doing something so accidental were not happy and slightly embarrassed. They said "Damn, okay" and walked away. And not like DAMN BITCH but like a Chris Tucker dayuum. There was no intentional harassing, there was just a girl who had been fed up with multiple people trying to pet her dog.
And this in the same discussion:
[–]Nashtiger 56 points 23 hours ago
I wish everyone here would stop repeating that she was raped. She wasn't. Per her own twitter, she "took sh1t on a daily basis" for marrying a Turkish Muslim. That was her "harassment".
As for being disabled, she sought disability for 6 different reasons (within 6 months of enlistment)
Here is what she was declared unfit for duty for: Looks like she's getting 70% of her pay.
Now that I look at it, it went by pretty fast. I got more than I expected. I'm not completely disabled, so in my mind I don't deserve any more.

I know, it's not your fault. This story has actually been out since the beginning of the week and the major outlets only recently decided to run with it. You know...AFTER other smaller outlets reported the story may have been stretched a bit by the "veteran" that's never actually been deployed and has a history of attention and benefit seeking. Even many in the AU forums assumed the worst before the Internet detectives got to work.
I've learned to have a healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to these kinds of stories, but especially so when it involves Auburn given the recent history of the media dragging them through the mud based on unfounded rumors and hearsay.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/chris-conley-is-your-2015-combine-workout-warrior-212710807.html
Conley basically did the Vernon Davis at the combine, wrecking the field in just about every test. He ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, only .02 off of what Miami speedster Phillip Dorsett ran. His 45-inch vertical was three inches better than any receiver, and probably about as good as most NBA dunk contest winners (this year's winner, Zach LaVine, has a reported 46-inch vertical). Conley's 11-7 broad jump beat the rest of the receivers by seven inches.
He set combine records for the vertical jump and the broad jump. And that, friends, is how you go from a good, solid SEC receiver to someone every NFL team will be reviewing his film on in coming weeks.
and what'd he do at school? a whole bunch of nothing. watch him turn into an NFL allpro. smh.

Ohio State Buckeyes suspend Joey Bosa, Jalin Marshall, Dontre Wilson, Corey Smith (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13346013/ohio-state-buckeyes-suspend-joey-bosa-jalin-marshall-dontre-wilson-corey-smith)
Ohio State will open its national title defense without two of its most valuable players, including All-American defensive end Joey Bosa.
Citing a violation of athletic department policy, the Buckeyes announced Thursday suspensions for Bosa, H-backs Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson and wide receiver Corey Smith, increasing the degree of difficulty when they visit Virginia Tech on Sept. 7.
Bosa is the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and is projected as a potential No. 1 draft pick if he elects to skip his senior season, as is widely expected.
Marshall emerged as one of Ohio State's most versatile weapons on the way to the championship a year ago, piling up yardage as both a receiver and a rusher and helping expand Urban Meyer's spread offense.
Wilson and Smith combined for 41 catches for 555 yards.
Meyer has not publicly commented on the discipline, but he is expected to speak at Big Ten media days later Thursday. The Hokies were the only team to beat them last season.
I wonder if the same thing that happened to Randy Gregory will happen to Bosa. I'll lean towards probably not unless this problem comes up again since Bosa is even more of a freak than Gregory.

Ohio State will sell beer and wine in limited areas of Ohio Stadium this year, athletic director Gene Smith said Friday.
Fans in the stadium’s 81 suites and 2,700 club seats will have the opportunity to purchase beer and wine. Those areas include 4,370 seats, or about 4 percent of the stadium’s capacity.

Wow ^^
You must not remember how good TCU looked last bowl season. Or how that same OSU team (you want to crown before they've even played a fucking game) beat this same Minnesota team 31-24 last season (with a healthy JT Barrett) less than a month before destroying Wisconsin in the B10CG.
In short, hold the fuck on to your illogical conclusions until we've at least played a few games.
I think Minnesota is a bit underrated. If they can get a decent offense going and get some playmaking from the QB, they have the defense (and more importantly discipline) to win a lot of games. Depending on what I see tomorrow, they may even be my favorite to win the B1G West.
Granted though, a lot of things change from week 1 to the end of the season (see: tOSU last season).

There's a 13 minute video of all the OSU v. UT penalties. The bulk of them were spot on. The call on Strong does appear to be bullshit, but we couldn't hear what he was saying. Didn't look like he bumped into the ref which is what I keep hearing UT fans say he was called for. It's the B12; this is how they officiate. Either learn to play inside of it, or suffer the consequences. Doesn't mean there isn't still going to be crap calls, or egregious missed calls. They killed WVU last year by not calling the beyond obvious targeting call on Trickett against TCU that sent him to the sidelines for the remainder. Shit happens...
Texas has now lost 2 high profile games because of horribly inept kicking. I'd be looking to remedy that post haste.

I thought his home town was a funny aside. You're the one taking offense to it and pretending you know something about his bias. I presented video and analysis, you presented "yeah but UT sux".
I'll go on record predicting UT upsets TCU or OU or Baylor. Texas is young as hell with very little junior or senior talent. 50% of the offensive depth chart and 42% of the defensive depth chart is true fresh, true soph, or RS fresh. They have and will make strides every week.
Strong's 1st class is very talented. Our best WR is a true fresh that Tyla will remember. Our 2 best OL are true fresh. All of our decent LB's are true or RS fresh. I've never seen Texas field a younger secondary or team. This is the rock-bottom season, but that game would've gone a long way toward bowl eligibility.

The 2nd link I provided and the Baylor/WVU game from last season shows that this crew produces statistical outliers. They do not represent the B12's norm.
Which video are you watching where you agree with bulk of the calls? The only controversial call I think they got right was our DT stupidly tapping helmets with the QB -- they gotta call that.
How do you explain DEFENSIVE HOLDING ON A RUNNING PLAY? This is the one that justifiably made Strong snap, and he was flagged for what he said, not the accidental contact with the official. This sequence gifted OSU the FG to tie.
The kicking issues are nightmarish but that shitty kicker will be gone soon and the punter started playing football just a few months ago. If I'm strong, I do walk-on competitions to see if we can replace both of them immediately.

I was at the Baylor/WVU game last year. Lot of penalties? Sure, but they were for the most part correct. Many of them being on defenders going up against Kevin White. There's good reason he told them early on "Y'all better go get some help". Baylor lost because they got outplayed and out-schemed, period. I firmly believe WVU would have taken down TCU as well if Trickett doesn't go down. So, your B12 got screwed out of being in the playoff talk because of WVU and refs is absolute nonsense.
This video has all the penalties:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRnL7IwJ12o
UT is still a year out. I've said it all year. As you stated about all the freshman; You do not win games with a depth chart loaded with rookies. Please don't even try to argue that point with a WVU fan...

Did I rub you wrong by pointing out that this crew ruined a critical B12 game last year, where the teams were called for a combined 32 penalties and 353 penalty yards? That set multiple records, man. Not at all representative of B12 officiating.
...Just trying to figure out how you're seeing this as normal, legit officiating because I wouldn't wish that crew upon any game... unless I wanted an upset.

I thought his home town was a funny aside. You're the one taking offense to it and pretending you know something about his bias. I presented video and analysis, you presented "yeah but UT sux".
who said I was "offended"? it was a simple statement of fact that his place of origin has nothing to do with being an effective ref. it's a city name I hear all the time so the 12 year old humor gets lost on me sometimes.
I'll go on record predicting UT upsets TCU or OU or Baylor. Texas is young as hell with very little junior or senior talent. 50% of the offensive depth chart and 42% of the defensive depth chart is true fresh, true soph, or RS fresh. They have and will make strides every week.
yeah to Jeremy's point having a depth chart loaded with underclassmen is not a plus.

To you and I, it really isn't, but for a reeling program like Texas, it's a heck of an accomplishment regardless of how deep their pockets are. I guarantee you the kids on that team care a great deal about getting to a bowl game. Now historically, that definitely should be their goal, but we're talking about this season.

Echo perfectly captures the idiotic outside perspective.
Mack Brown left Charlie Strong very little talent. What talent was here, had been acquired by several different coordinators in several different schemes. No coherent strategy, tons of holes, and abysmal talent evaluation. Charlie must've shit himself when hever realized what was here.
And now that the only talented players from last year's team are gone, particularly MLB Jordan Hicks and DT Malcom Brown, Texas is facing one of the hardest schedules in the country. I dont remember the last time Texas played an FCS team so STFU with your assumptions based on SEC scheduling.
Per sagarin, Texas has played the 11th strongest schedule. Georgia's is 107th. Switch tge schedules, and Texas would be 4-0 and unconcerned about making a bowl.

The 2012 and 2013 calls that went our way at the goal line shouldn't have. If either is called correctly, it helps force Mack out sooner. Those calls hurt Texas long term.
2009, putting the second back on the clock that ticked off for no reason wasn't controversial, no matter how badly NU fans wanted it to be.
This game was unique and I don't expect to see anything like it for a very long time.
Just curious: are you one of those people that thinks Nebraska left the B12 because of Texas? If so, why?
No. Nebraska left for the B1G because of money. They could get a bigger piece of a what was at the time a larger pie in the B1G. I do think Texas not sharing their third tier rights with the Longhorn network could have played into it, but i'm not sure if that was all in place at the time.

Adam perfectly captures the idiotic homer perspective. just just finished trying to sell us on their depth via underclassmen. please tell us more. going through all these coordinators and schemes is no one else's fault outside of the University of Texas. just like the AD/ coach gets credit for making good hires they should also get the blame for making bad ones or letting someone stick around to long. blame the refs, blame the schedule it doesn't matter. the blame lies with the leadership point blank period and with the massive amounts of money available at that school there is no excuse outside of poor leadership.
And now that the only talented players from last year's team are gone, particularly MLB Jordan Hicks and DT Malcom Brown, Texas is facing one of the hardest schedules in the country. I don't remember the last time Texas played an FCS team so STFU with your assumptions based on SEC scheduling.
oh please tell me more about the world beaters that are Kansas and Iowa State. I never made a single claim about our schedule being super hard or anything so you can stuff that BS. so what they don't have any FCS teams on the schedule? they're probably afraid of getting beat by Mother Mary's Sisters of the poor community college, hair salon and tire center or is they are loaded with freshmen/sophomore talent? it's hard figuring out what side of that fence you're chosing to sit on.
Per sagarin, Texas has played the 11th strongest schedule. Georgia's is 107th. Switch tge schedules, and Texas would be 4-0 and unconcerned about making a bowl.
again. I never made any claims about our schedule. in fact I think it's a very winnable schedule. oh btw, we've got Alabama this week. who do you have and do you even thing you could keep that game within 20 points?
I'm sorry your school's football program is a dumpster fire and the laughing stock of the "Big 12". it sucks I know. we had a bad season a few years ago. but we fired folks and made changes so that it wouldn't continue and/or get worse. but even still managed to recruit guys like Todd Gurley in a conference that has dominated the National Championship over the last 10 years. if we lose 2 games this year the season will be considered to be a massive failure. if you win 2 games the rest of us will be shocked. If you're lucky they'll win 4 games. but if they manage to shock the world and win 6 you might get to go to the Music City bowl or something equally pointless. but don't think one of those wins is coming this weekend. Eh, it's as close to a sure thing as you're going to find.
And Husker fans, wtf was that?? Is Riley going to make it through his first season out there?
I don't know. I definitely don't think the administration will fire Riley after 1 season, regardless of how bad it gets. That won't keep the fan base from calling for his head though. If things go as badly as they can, we could end up missing a bowl game, especially with how surprisingly solid the B1G West seems this year. If that happens the sellout streak may be in serious jeopardy next year. I'm guessing there are likely boosters that will buy whatever remaining tickets there are to keep the streak alive next season, but that could be a lot of tickets to buy.
This team has shown flashes of what it can do, but they have never been able to put everything together consistently. I feel like if the team got everything going right they have the potential to challenge for the West division title, but the question is how long that will take. Armstrong has looked like a vastly improved passer (until this last game, which I am attributing largely to the crappy weather). The run D is fairly solid, and the secondary has shown some ability (albeit not often lol). The biggest problem is depth. We are down to walk-ons and true freshmen at linebacker, and there are a significant number of freshmen getting lots of playing time at other positions (like HB, WR, RT, DE, DT, CB, and S... that's most of the positions lol). I'm hoping that having De'Mornay Pierson-El back at full strength now will make a significant impact on offense, he has some serious play-making ability. I also think getting the veteran linebackers back from injury will help make the defense more solid.
As for what happened Saturday at Illinois, I have no idea. I think the weather had a pretty big impact on both offenses, and Nebraska has had trouble running consistently this season which doesn't help in bad weather. What happened on that third down with a minute left is inexcusable. It sounds like there may have been a bit of miscommunication, since Riley said it was called a QB sweep, and the TE was supposed to motion to the play side to block (which he did not). Several players ran routes though, so IDK... I really hope it wasn't a pass play and Riley lied later to cover his ass because that will just screw things up with the team. I guess we'll see Saturday... I'll be in Lincoln, with my dad who is from just outside of Madison and will be rooting for Wisconsin. Should be interesting haha.

he's the type of coach that would roll MSU or OSU and blow it against Minnesota. I'm soooo over this guy. literally 5 other coaches/schools have won National Championships and Malzhan went to the game since he's been there. he has no excuses. if the AD fails to make a move this year it only means he's a puss and is happy with what's he's getting. after all UGA is one of the most profitable programs in the country. or you end up like Chizik at Au, Saban at LSU, Saban at Bama, Urban at UF, Miles at LSU and win a National Championship or like Malzhan and win the SEC and go to the big game. those are all coaches that have won while Richt has been at UGA. risk is necessary for reward. he literally has a team LOADED with players that all of those other coaches wanted on their team. what has he done with it? get blown out by SC last year but still have the SEC East handed to him on a silver platter and a path to the playoff laid at his feet. what does he do? get blown out by literally the worst Florida team they've had in 30 years and that's not even an exaggeration. p.s. UF ran 6 passing plays and only 3 different running plays the entire game.
6 other teams have managed to pull of Championships around him. he hasn't won one since 2005 and that was with most of the last guy's players. you say it's risky to fire him and end up like Nebraska. I say it's stupid not to when it works for literally everyone else.

I see your point...but are UGA fans ready for a possible decade of mediocrity before finally getting the 'right' coach they need? I can tell you as a Michigan fan, these last 10 years have been long. But maybe it's best to get that ball rolling sooner rather than later?
I would say Nebraska has been an outlier. I would think that a place like Georgia could get back to the level that they have been with Richt reasonably easily, considering they don't have much trouble recruiting with where they are located. In fact, someone who is better with schemes and motivation could come in and immediately make an improvement considering that Georgia has the talent on the roster to compete for a championship.
Nebraska is different because we have outperformed what we should have been capable of during the Devaney/Osborne years. It's not like we had a lot of talent in the surrounding areas to draw from, what set Nebraska apart was the state of the art facilities and strength programs we had during the 70s and up. We could take some farmboy from rural Nebraska and train him to be a top level college player, but now all the top teams have facilities rivaling Nebraska and they have a lot easier access to more naturally talented high school players. What Nebraska has been for the past 15 years is probably where they should have been the whole time. I would have been really disappointed with firing Bo if he wasn't such a gigantic douchebag. Riley is better for being the face of the program, but I doubt he has the ability to take a bunch of 30th ranked recruiting classes and turn them into a team that can truly compete for B1G and national championships.

that's just it. it has been a decade of mediocrity. last SEC Championship 2005 and literally nothing since. 2 years ago we were 4 yards away from beating Alabama in the SEC Champ game and going on to anniliate ND. then last week those same 2 teams with a lot of the same players gets absolutely steam rolled AT HOME. the program has regressed.
I will not be shocked if we lose to TN. it's in Knoxville where they already struggle against a team looking to get over the hump and have that signature win. Richt is famous for doing that for people. no way we beat UF. worst team ever last year and they blew Richt out again. since then they've only improved. best case scenario is 3 losses. asshole will probably get a raise and contract extension for it.

Athens is a surprisingly great little town! I have a good friend who moved there for work... never would have thought Georgia would have a little town like that. Very fun. And yes, very cute girls.
there's several places you'd really like if you dig Athens. and as far as the girls go if you think they're good in Athens you'd die in Kennesaw. oh hell :D

good night sweet gaytors.
Will Grier, Florida Gators quarterback, suspended for the season (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13871336/will-grier-florida-gators-quarterback-suspended-season)
Florida Gators quarterback Will Grier has been suspended for the season for violating NCAA rules, according to a source.
Grier tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, a source said. The positive test carries an automatic one-year suspension from the NCAA.
what's worse is this will have all the local media here in GA saying how we now have a chance to beat UF and still play for SEC championship when I know for a fact that we don't. still going to lose to a benched back up with a benched transfer.

this guy says it best:
Making the case against Mark Richt (http://gridironnow.com/making-the-case-against-mark-richt/)
•Georgia hasn’t won an SEC title since 2005.
•Georgia has played for the SEC title only twice since then, the same number of times as Missouri, which entered the SEC in 2012.
•Eight times since Richt took over in Athens, an SEC team has won the national championship; in that same time Georgia has yet to play for one.
•Georgia has a 16-9 record vs. Power 5 opponents in the past three seasons.
•Georgia is 14-21 vs. ranked teams since 2008.
•Since 2008, when Georgia’s decline under Richt began, the Bulldogs have finished the season unranked (three) more often than they have finished ranked in the top 10 (two).
•Georgia has suffered a loss by at least 18 points in nine of the past 10 seasons.
•Georgia failed to show up as an almost two-touchdown favorite against a bad Florida team last season, losing 38-20. This is problematic on two fronts. One, Richt is 5-9 against the Gators. Two, Richt’s teams have come to suffer at least one head-scratching loss per season as a considerable favorite. Last season, it was Florida and South Carolina. In 2013, it was Missouri and Vanderbilt.
•All of this despite having an average recruiting ranking of 8th since 2008, according to 24/7 Sports, and a dazzling array of individual talent including Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Moreno, AJ Green, Orson Charles, Jarvis Jones, Justin Houston, Alec Ogletree, Bacarri Rambo, Todd Gurley and now Nick Chubb.

Goodbye Spurrier... You were amusing to watch grimace on the sideline but a bit of a whiner. You should have retired a while ago...

now we can watch another coach come in beat Richt his first year and likely win the SEC east or more.

Well that didn't take long...he's gonna be on Gameday this weekend. Maybe I should walk up to campus to see him, or maybe I'll just drink beer instead.

The entire student section pretty much sat there like that for the next 10 minutes as if it was magically going to be reviewed and called back. Wish I could've started pistol whipping people to get out of there quicker.

There's a lot of douche bags and fair weather assholes out there. Blake is a great punter and also had I believe the longest punt of anyone this season so far (something like 80 or 90 yds). Sometimes lady luck just isn't on your side. We're still ahead of schedule.
