Some of you know and have heard my kids band before. I just want to give an update because they are quite a bit better than before.

My daughter sings
Her boyfriend plays bass and sings
My oldest son plays guitar and sings
And my youngest son plays the hell out of the drums

Shock & Awe Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos (http://www.reverbnation.com/shocknaweband)

Check it out, the first 3 songs are their latest.

You can look at the pics while the songs are playing. Don't forget to like!

Just to give a little bio: They have been to New York, LA and SF with the band. Then toured for weeks all the way down the east with the extreme tour.

I honestly can't believe how good they have become. I have pretty much quit playing myself because I just support them now. My son has become a better drummer than me and I've done it for almost 30 years. :/

Right now they are trying to get shows warming up for big bands. They play live better than the studio most of the time so they love the live stuff. If they got the right producer I think they would kill,

So hard to make it in that biz. Although in today's world it is so much easier to record, promote, and distribute your own music.

Ive been a guitar player since I could fit a neck in my hand. Still love it more than anything, and work on my chops all the time. The business side of music though...........

I really hope that however things go for them, the business side of "making it" doesn't suck the love of music right out of them.

A few comments:

Her voice is amazing for the genre. It's nice to see a drummer that is on top of, or slightly in front of the beat on the snare at that age. He is good!

The writing, who does the writing? It seems a bit pop/punk canned material, but they fit the bill well. If the kids write it, who is producing behind them? The studio work is good. Not to robotic/perfect that it seems concocted.

Though they fit the genre well, I would LOVE to hear something in another area as they are damn good.

My daughter writes all the lyrics. She is a bit of a book worm so she is quite impressive when she writes songs. Sometimes I can't believe the stuff she writes. The other kids write the music though.

Pop punk is exactly what they are classified as but I call it pop rock. I normally produce them but this last time I couldn't be there and there were things that bug the hell out of me. Not much but a few things that needed to be there.

I can produce like a mad man but they need a manager. The wife held that job for a while (that's the New York and LA trip) but they really need somebody to take them to the next level.

I played in a 3 piece original band for many years, we were very good. If we had a good promoter we might of done something.

Musically not my cup of tea. However, they've definitely got some talent. Being a drummer myself, I can tell your boy has some pretty good chops already.

I'd make a little trip to listen live. Let us know when they play.
